One area to feature that offers a spectacular display of color is the Woodlands Trace National Scenic Byway. Located in between the Kentucky Lake and Lake Barley, the area gives you access to some of the most gorgeous views.
Many of the parks and lakes give you the opportunity to see the scenery up close with hiking, camping, and exploring. You can also stay at some of the several state parks lodges to experience the autumn colors the state has to offer.

The byway begins at the intersection of GA-75 and GA-75 Alternate and takes you around and through the Chattahoochee National Forest.
