May 2013 Toddler Bluum Box Review

So we received our Bluum Box and I can tell you that Mommy and I were not impressed at all. This month’s theme was called Cuddle Time and nothing we received made us really want to cuddle.

As we mentioned before Bluum is a monthly subscription geared towards babies and toddlers from newborn – age 3. The subscription costs $24.95 a month and includes free shipping. Included with your Bluum subscription is your choice of a one year subscription to Parents or FamilyFun Magazine. We haven’t received our subscription to Parents that we chose but we’re not worried since we already had one and was just going to incorporate them together to make it longer.

This is what our box looked like opened

I’m going to be listing the items one by one along with their value based on Amazon prices so you can get an idea of the cost of this box.

Our Theme was Cuddle Time

Don’t forget that your baby is still a baby! They still love to cuddle and be with their favorite person in the world: Mommy.

Cuddle by Beth Shoshan: $2.80

This is a hardcover book and would be perfect for an older child like a preschooler since this has pages I can rip out easily. I’m only 16 month old and I prefer board books. Ask my mommy.

The Edushape 4″ Sensory Ball: Pack of 4 $16.50 or 1 for $4.13

From the Manufacturer: Edushape 4″ sensory balls are perfect for developing baby’s tactile senses and gross motor skills. The nubby texture of these colorful balls provides tremendous sensory and dexterity-building play. Baby can squeeze, roll, throw, kick and see through these textured play balls. The sensory ball improves hand-eye coordination and can be used to improve socialization skills when enjoyed in group play. Baby products by Edushape will enable babies to: explore, discover, visualize, and verbalize and so much more. At Edushape we encourage you to, touch with passion, laugh with love, and “bond with your baby”. Most of all have fun learning together. These were made in China.

Angel Dear Blankie (Brown Owl): $11.58

This was soft but we would have preferred to get a color that was a little more girlie. Otherwise I didn’t mind getting this. It is also machine washable and made in China.

Babysoy Baby Socks: $9.99

Once again we weren’t too happy with the color or the socks either. This came in the color tomato and to be honest we wouldn’t buy these socks at this price. We usually buy our socks from the Gap, Old Navy or Gymboree and the quality is very similar. According to the description on the back, this is made form 36% Azlon from Soy (Azlon from Soy is a protein base fibre made from renewable natural resources), 36% organic cotton and 28% nylon and made in China.

BabyGanics Kissy Face Lip Balm with SPF 20, 0.15 oz: $19.97 pack of 3 or $4.99 for 1

Broad spectrum UVA/UVB featuring antioxidants to help protect against free-radical damage mineral based sunscreen protection. No paraben, sulfates, phthalates, toxins, mineral oil, Petrolatum, artificial colors, nuts, gluten. We love the fact that this is all natural.

StriVectin-EV Get Even Brightening Serum, 0.25 fl. oz. (sample size): $67.69 for 1.7 fl.oz.

From the Manufacturer

  • Brighter, more even skin tone within two weeks
  • Greater lightening of spots at 4 weeks
  • Return of youthful, radiant skin in 8 weeks
  • Visibly reduces the size and darkness of age spots, sun spots and dark spots
  • Fights dark spots at the source

Luna Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter 1.6oz Bar: $11.16 box of 12 or $0.93 for 1

There was a Luna Chocolate Peanut Butter protein bar included that was obviously for mommy which she ate and said she didn’t like. Mommy said that it didn’t taste like peanut butter and has a very not so nice after taste.

Included in the box was also a coupon for $15 off your order to Chromatic Gallerie which once again mommy said she was not going to use.

The total value for the box including our $15 coupon would be $49.42 based on Amazon’s prices. Not too bad of a deal for a $24.95 box but we weren’t too worried about the value but more about the items that we got. We would have preferred to get items that we would really use and had a more girlie theme.

We are going to continue with our subscription and see what shows up in June. According to our cuddle time card it states that next month’s theme is Fine Dining so we’re looking forward to that.
