Rochester is a very safe city to visit. In fact, in 2018, it was ranked as the 3rd safest city in the U.S. You can walk around downtown and feel comfortable doing so at any time of day or night. If that isn’t enough reason to visit Rochester, I don’t know what is!

The people in Rochester are incredibly friendly and welcoming. You’ll feel right at home in this city.

The Cost of Living

Rochester is very affordable compared to other major cities. The cost of living is about 18% lower than the average city in the US and the median home price is just over $100,000.

The Weather

The weather in Rochester is great! There are four distinct seasons, each with its own distinctive beauty. Summers are hot, with a few heatwaves thrown in for good measure, but nothing too severe. Fall brings amazing foliage and mild temperatures. Winter brings snow, but it’s nothing that can’t be dealt with with a little salt, and the snow usually melts within a day or two. Spring is cool and fresh, the perfect time to start exploring all the city has to offer.

The Food.

If you love food, Rochester is the place for you. There are so many great restaurants to choose from that you’ll never be bored, especially if you’re looking for farm-to-table dining. For a small city, there are a surprisingly large number of James Beard Award-winning chefs. And don’t forget Wegmans, one of the best grocery stores in the US that started right here in Rochester. And if you’re a fan of craft beer, Rochester has you covered there too.

The food scene in Rochester is incredible. There are so many great places to eat, whether you’re looking for a casual meal or a fine dining experience. From Rochester’s famous garbage plates to Rochester-style hot dogs and chicken wings, you’ll definitely find something to your taste.
