How to Easily Update Your Teens’ Room This Holiday ~ #FatheadForTheHolidays #DeckTheWalls

It can be difficult shopping for boys, especially the boys in my household. Kyle and Mikael are not what you would call “two peas in a pod”. They are very much different. Until recently both boys were sharing a room, so decorating a room was a bit more challenging. Kyle loves sports, especially basketball, while Mikael is into science. With my daughter officially out of my home we decided that Kyle could now have her room and we wanted to convert it to a room that he would want to be in.

This post is sponsored by Fathead, however, all opinions are mine alone.

As I mentioned, Kyle is truly a basketball fanatic, and during the week you would either find him practicing outdoors on his basketball hoop, if the weather allows, or playing his favorite basketball video game. His favorite player is Kyrie Irving, and last year for Christmas, he decided that he wanted an authentic player’s jersey from the Cleveland Cavs which we purchased. As it happened, his favorite player got traded to the now Boston Celtics, so now it was time to update. Since we now had Kyle installed in his “new room”, we decided to do a few updates. Kristal’s room was originally painted in “girly” colors, so we first went with a paint update, but besides that I had no idea what else to do. The following photo is what his room looked like before.

So how was I going to update his room into something that he would love to be in, without spending a ton of money?

I have always seen the commercials on TV and had thought about them before for Madison. She’s a Disney fanatic and they had the cutest Disney decals that I knew she would love. However, this was about Kyle and his room, and he wouldn’t want Elsa on his walls. So I decided to take a look and they had EVERYTHING! FROM Disney to Sports, there was quite a selection to choose from, and guess what? They had his favorite player.

What made Fathead a hit with us, was that it was easy to install and took literally minutes. It was simply peel and stick. We took the decal out of it’s carton and laid flat for an hour. Then we simply wiped down his walls with a damp cloth and let dry, and together my husband and I decorated his wall before he came from school. Since his Kyrie Irving decal was over 6ft, it required both of us to do the work. And what a transformation!

Now Kyle has a room that he loves to be in, with his favorite basketball player, and we couldn’t be happier.
