Make your own lavender linen spray for a relaxing and pleasant home fragrance.

DIY Lavender Linen Spay

For the past couple of weeks, I’ve noticed that I haven’t been sleeping well. I’m in bed by 7pm, but I’m also up at 12am and again at 4am. It’s not that I don’t have a bedroom I can relax in, but more to the fact that once I do get in bed, my mind is just racing everywhere.

This pandemic has not just had me thinking about the trips that I won’t be partaking in this year, but we’ve lost family members and friends who have been dear to us. With all the time I now have on my hands, I’ve been doing a little bit more DIY, not just for the blog, but for family members as well. My daughter, who recently moved to Portland, has been asking for all the handmade soaps that she can get, as she’s not able to head into her favorite LUSH store. While my husband has been enjoying the bath soaks after a long day at work. However, my favorite has got to be the lavender sugar scrub which not only leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth, but is also so relaxing.

I, on the other hand, enjoy making them because I know exactly what’s going into each and every product. Lately, I’ve also been having a few more headaches than usual. As someone who suffers from migraines, I tend to stay away from overpowering scents, and that’s something that you find in almost every air-freshener on the market. While I don’t mind having them in the bathroom, I’d much prefer to not have them in my personal space when I’m going to bed.

This lavender linen spray is perfect for that. It’s not overly sweet, and the scent is perfect for a quick spritz on my pillow before bed. It calms me, and I find that I actually sleep a tad better when I do it. This is so simple to make that you’ll want to make it for not just your home, but for travel as well. This one makes approximately one 8-ounce bottle, but I pour them into travel-sized bottles so that I can have one for my carry-on and one for my home. You can also use them as a light body spray as there are no harmful ingredients in this.

Here’s what you’ll need:

DIY Lavender Linen Spray

SUPPLIES:

2 ounce (4 tablespoons) witch hazel or you can also use vodka

20 drops lavender essential oil

6 ounces (12 tablespoons) distilled water

Spray bottle (I found these cute ones at Target)

Lavender Buds (optional)

Lavender Linen Spray Label

DIY Lavender Linen Spray Ingredients

DIRECTIONS:

Simply mix your distilled water with your witch hazel and 20 drops of your lavender essential oil.

If you’re mixing it in an 8oz spray bottle, then you’re done.

Otherwise, you’re going to want to add all the ingredients into a measuring cup and stir well. The witch hazel in the mixture helps to disperse the essential oil evenly in the water.

Pour into your spray bottles and use it as you would any linen spray, but remember to shake before each use.

I also added a few lavender buds to my concoction, but that’s totally optional. I also made a Lavender Linen Spray label with my Cricut Joy that you can print out as well. You can keep a bottle in your bathroom, laundry room, use it on your linens, your throw pillows, or even as a body splash. They’re so easy to make and so handy to have in your home.
