KidOFit - The Alternative to Walking Barefoot

Disclaimer: I received products  for review purposes. No other compensation was received. Though the product was free, opinions are 100% my very own.

I like to think of myself as a toddler shoe connoisseur. I just love shoes and as the saying goes, you can never have too many shoes. Or was that pocketbooks? Anyway back to shoes. I love a shoe that not only is functional, looks good but also fits well. When a shoe fits well (and looks good) there is always that guarantee that mommy and I will be buying it again in the future. KidOFit meets all the requirements that we look for in a shoe. Designed by Dr. Ron Bar, KidOFit barefoot shoes were made to alleviate the aches and pains that parents go through when buying shoes for their little ones.

Now there is a reason that they are called barefoot shoes. They are actually designed with a flexible sole that mimics the benefits of walking barefoot. I don't know if you know this but going barefoot is actually better for you. It actually helps improve your posture and circulation, but going barefoot isn't always practical is it? That's where KidOFit comes in.

With adorable designs and available from baby size 4 to toddler size 12, there is a design available for your little girl or boy. I was sent the Baby Girl Vivianne Silver and I loved it!

Here are just some of the differences between a KidOFit shoe and an ordinary shoe.

Your KidOFit shoe would come with 2 different sets of insoles. One yellow already inserted in your shoe and a green. At first mommy and I were confused as to why we needed 2 different insoles, but here is the reason why.

If your shoe is too loose when you try them on then you will need to insert the green under the yellow insole altogether in your shoe.

If your shoe is too tight, then you will only need the green insole. The green insole is much thinner than the yellow giving you more room inside of your shoe.

The insoles are removable as I just told you giving you access to the clear sole. This transparent sole gives you a clear view of your little one's toes, allowing you to see whether or not the shoe fits properly.

I usually buy a size 8 and you can see the fit on these. I usually bunch my toes whenever I put a shoe on, which most toddlers do, and this eliminates the need for returning the shoe since you can see that and possibly choose the next size up or down if needed. With me there was still room at the top since I had slid my foot up, so these fit perfect.

KidOFit shoes are made with an anatomical wide shape that allows your feet to function naturally. All of their shoes (except for the boots) comes with velcro tabs enabling them to go on and off easily. There is also an adjustable heel strap that helps eliminate slippage and making it a better fit for those with narrow feet, since you can pull it closer together.

The footbed with the soft foam padding fabric is comfortable and provides added protection from the elements on the ground.  They are very lightweight and super flexible and it does feel like you're walking barefoot on the ground. Just what I needed.

Now excuse my photo. On the day that mommy and I decided to take my photos I had a very high temperature so we were on our way to the doctor's office. I got to wear my KidOFit shoes and got quite a few compliments and questions on them. Mommy and I were able to answer them truthfully and even got a few "I want a pair" from other moms.

These have got to be one of the most unique shoes I've worn in a very long time and I can't say enough nice things about them. They are truly one of a kind and the feeling of walking barefoot is amazing. I have to say if you haven't bought a pair yet, then you need to, because KidOFit gets my TWO TINY THUMBS UP!

KidOFit wants to share some shoe and foot care tips with you.

Shoe and Foot Care:
  • When you’ve chosen your child’s shoes, follow these great tips for keeping them and your child’s feet in tip top condition:
  • Feet should be thoroughly washed and dried daily, especially between the toes.
  • Toe nails should be kept short and straight.
  • Tights should have a heel and toe feature, not be just a long tube over the foot.
  • Ideally, children should have more than one pair of shoes and alternate between them.
  • Shoes should be changed 3-4 times a year. This prevents feet from becoming too ‘molded’ to a particular shoe
  • Feet should be measured regularly, particularly in the 1st 3 years of walking.
  • Shoes should be cleaned according to the manufacturers’ instructions.
  • Shoes should be thoroughly aired after wearing them as sweat may cause dampness.

  2. I also consider functionality whenever I purchase a pair of shoes. I like that I won't just use a pair of shoes for one occasion. So, I guess it goes the same for kids' shoes, right? All those pairs are really fashionable and cute! The one that you featured with the velcro tab's pretty cool. I wish we had something like that for adults no?
