So you’re thinking about a trip to Dubai? Here are the top 20 things you should do while there!

The city of Dubai is ranked one of the most expensive globally, and one could not imagine that there could be so many things to do for free here. The government is very caring, and on top of so many free things to do, there are refrigerators in many places where they offer free water and sometimes food if you run out of money.

 A couple of years ago, I was trying to figure out where to spend my birthday, and it couldn’t have been easier. All it took was a notification that there were reduced fares to Dubai. Without hesitation, I booked immediately. I was visiting during Ramadan and needed a few things to do while there as I was going to be there for ten days. 

If you’re planning a trip to Dubai, here are just a few examples of what you can do in this gorgeous city.

  1. THE DUBAI FOUNTAIN 

The breathtaking dancing waters of Dubai are one of the things you must see while here. The water fountain is open every hour, and you will be left speechless by the beauty of the water dancing to different songs from around the world. The show is completely free to watch.

  1. KITE BEACH

This stretch of white sand is the ultimate place for the perfect beach experience. There, you can meet new people or enjoy yourself with your friends or family.

  1. AL QUDRA CYCLE PATH 

This trail is 86 km long and is a great place to visit in order to view the desert, and you may spot some wildlife living freely as you cycle away.

  1. GURU NANAK DARBAR SIKH TEMPLE 

This clean, quiet temple has a spectacular design and offers a new feel for the city due to the Sikh influence. The temple is free to enter.

  1. AL NOOR MOSQUE

The Al Noor Mosque is the only mosque that allows tours inside the Sharjah region. This beautiful mosque is adorned with stunning designs and is a great place to see while here.

These are seven exquisite bars and clubs in one building and are ideal for women as they have a ladies’ night every week and offer free drinks to ladies in all seven bars. You can enjoy the view of the whole city as this building is strategically located.

Take a walk in this luxurious area around the lake and enjoy the view of impressive architectural designs all around. The walk around the lake will take you approximately forty minutes, so be sure to stay hydrated in this hot city.

This cultural hub is a real example of how the old Dubai meets the new modern one, and you can get lost in its magnificent view at no cost at all.

International designers, big, flashy shops, elegant people walking all around—you name it. This place has it all. It was built to connect fashion lovers and people with a keen eye for design, and it is also free.

  1. DUBAI WATER CANAL 

This man-made canal is a part of Deira Creek. It is the newest landmark in the city. It is a fantastic spot to take beautiful photos.

  1. JUMEIRAH PUBLIC BEACH

This public beach is excellent for a tan. There are lifeguards around during the day and lots of people to chat with. The water is clean; however, the beach is less crowded during the weekdays.

  1. BASTAKIA QUARTER

The Bastakia Quarter was once a former fishing village that lies in the city. It is rich in culture and history, dating back to the times of the Iranian traders. Visit this place and enjoy an authentic UAE experience.

  1. THE DUBAI MALL

This mall is one of the largest in the world, with an indoor aquarium that is open to the public. The Dubai Mall is located next to the metro and is open every day. You can take pictures of the beautiful sea creatures and browse the numerous stores in the mall.

Donated by the late vice prime minister of the UAE, this church was built in 1967 and is one of the few churches in Dubai; hence, it is popular and helps bridge the region’s religious gap.

  1. BURJ AL ARAB 

The Burj Khalifa is the best place for holiday pictures, as this 6-star hotel stands tall and can be viewed from the beach. The hotel is great to photograph at sunset while lying on the beach.

  1. AL BARSHA POND PARK

This green park is a great place to visit if you want to enjoy a nature-filled afternoon. The park has an artificial lake, and there is so much greenery around that you will forget you are in a desert.

  1. DEIRA OLD SOUK ABRA STATION 

This old dock is a gorgeous location to visit while in Dubai to see some of the country’s history. It is located close to the gold souk and spice souk, which are also free.

  1. SATWA DISTRICT

There is so much to see, and the Asian culture, especially Pakistani, influences the district. Some sellers will approach you and try to bargain on souvenirs. There are also a lot of parks that are free to visit in the area.

  1. DUBAI TURTLE REHABILITATION PROJECT

This non-profit organization aims to educate people on turtle conservation and help them learn how to do it. It treats sick and injured turtles, among other marine life, and you can be part of such a noble cause for no fee at all.

In Conclusion

Although it is the city of extremes—the tallest, the most expensive, and the richest—it has so much to offer every budget.
