Living a Healthier You For a Better You ~ #BetterOffHealthy

This is a sponsored post in partnership with The Motherhood on behalf of Nature’s Bounty®.

This year my goal is to live a healthier life and today I want to share how Nature’s Bounty® is helping me to achieve my goal.

We all want to live healthy and full lives and we all have different reasons for wanting to achieve that. Whether it’s for yourself, your family, or maybe just to fulfill a passion that you’ve had for many years. For example, I would love to visit each and every country around the world, it’s always been a dream of mine, but if I’m not in the best health, it’s not going to happen.

Now living healthy may be different for everyone. Some people want to live healthier spiritually, mentally, socially, emotionally, or even physically. I want to live all of the above, and not just for myself, but for those around me as well. When I’m not in a good mood, it not only affects my well-being but my family as well. They pick up on my emotions and thus everyone has a bad day.

Living healthy is important and no matter what you may think, we are all better off healthy. Today I’m sharing the three ways that I’m trying to live a healthier and better life, thanks to Nature’s Bounty®.

So how have I been living a healthier me?

Getting more sleep

I have always had a problem with my sleep pattern. No matter what time of night I go to bed, not only would sleep elude me, but whenever it did arrive, it wasn’t sound, but rather restless. After a visit to my doctor, there were a few recommendations.

One was turning off the lights and all electronics, including the TV, placing my cell phone and laptop in a separate room, and taking melatonin before going to bed. It was difficult at first because I’m one of those who has to have the TV on in order to sleep because I needed the background noise.

I have been taking Nature’s Bounty® Melatonin which is an excellent choice if you experience the occasional sleeplessness as I do or if you just want to improve the quality of rest you receive nightly. Melatonin is a clinically studied ingredient that helps you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.*

Taking care of my sight

My mother started wearing glasses when she was 19 years old, but by the time she was 40, it turned into bifocals. My vision has always been excellent, as a matter of fact at my last vision screening it was stated that my vision was 20/15.

Lately, however, I’ve noticed that there’s been a change. My long-distance sight was starting to get blurry and it hasn’t been the same. While the thought of wearing glasses doesn’t thrill me, the very thought of losing my sight does. I would LOVE to see my children grow up, walk down the aisle of their wedding and be able to play with my grandkids.

However, I am on my computer for most of the day, and most bloggers can relate. When I’m not typing up ideas for blog posts, editing photos, I’m constantly searching shopping sites or perusing social media.

Did you know that digital devices emit high amounts of high-energy blue light which may induce oxidative stress to the eyes?

That’s why I take Nature’s Bounty® Lutein Blue. It’s a unique eye health supplement that helps filter damaging blue light from electronic devices*, thus protecting my eyes from those same damaging blue light.  Its clinically studied formula also supports eye health*.

Maintaining my heart health

Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death right here in the US, and it’s very important that I take care of myself to reduce my risk for heart disease. Having a family history puts me at risk even more so, so it’s imperative that I do what I need to do to stay healthy.

One such step is eating healthier, and instead of totally banning items off my menu, I have been controlling my portion sizes and incorporating more heart-healthy options such as eating more fresh fruits, veggies, and fish this year.

I have also added Nature’s Bounty® Fish Oil to my diet since it supports cardio and circulatory health*. When I was growing up, my mother would give me and my brothers fish oil, and I had no idea why she gave it, but I’m happy that she did.

Sure, we all want to be healthy for the big celebrations and victories, but it’s also those small, everyday moments, which truly make life special, that you want to be healthy for. We need healthy hearts to cheer our bowling league on to victory, the drive to whip up dinner for the family, a strong stomach to share embarrassing moments with friends, and the energy to celebrate all victories, no matter how large or small.

No matter what your reason for living healthy, Nature’s Bounty® is here to support you on your health journey. Sign up for Nature’s Bounty’s mailing list to receive news, offers, and announcements right to your inbox visit http://bit.ly/NBSignUpNow.
