About Me

Hi there! Welcome to AnnMarie John!

If you're visiting for the first time, thank you. If you've been with us since the very first day, thank you as well. I truly appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to pay me a visit.

I'm AnnMarie John, and you may call me, the blogger with all the hair colors. Why? Because seeing all the colors of the rainbow genuinely makes me happy. I'm a retired army veteran, amateur photographer, wife to Jerrell for more than a decade, and mom of 4 to Krissy, Kyle, Mikael, and Madison. Our home also consists of two Cocker Spaniels (Bentley and Ella), a Birman cat (Cross) and a Betta Fish.

I was born on a small island in the Caribbean named St. Vincent and the Grenadines, but spent most of my "adult" life in the USA, primarily in New York City, until my family and I relocated to Colorado. My insatiable desire for travel was instilled within me as a young child when my mother would take me on summer vacations all throughout the Caribbean, so when I "grew up" and had my own family, I decided that I would continue that same tradition.

I grew up on the quote that;

Travel is the only thing that you buy that makes you rich.

And it's a quote that I stand by to this day.

When I turned 40 (call it my midlife crisis) I decided that there was so much more to see out there and life was too short for me to stick around in one place. I also started a bucket list and made it a goal to visit at least one new city or country a year until I got them all done.

But in 2018, I got some devastating news that made me see things differently. I started losing my vision and decided that it was time to start truly living my life, because I may not be able to "see the world" as I want to much longer. So I decided to start living spontaneously. I stopped waiting on others and started doing it myself. Trying to make the most out of every day, and mostly with my travel buddy, my 7yr old daughter Madison.

So instead of traveling once a year, it's now my mission to visit one new place EVERY MONTH! There will be no regrets, except for the regret of not having done it sooner.

So join me on my adventures, and remember:

Life is an adventure, explore places you've never been.
