We are big fans of Disney as you may already have noticed, and our love is truly real. From the moment that Madison was able to watch and understand what was happening on our television, she gravitated towards Disney Channel and Disney Junior. She would sit and watch Mickey and Minnie Mouse and all her other favorites until I said “no more”. While her taste in television has evolved over the years, one thing remained constant, her love for Disney Junior, and this year she has two favorite shows. Mickey and the Roadster Racers and Puppy Dog Pals, which your own child can watch on Disney Junior (this is a dedicated channel running Disney Junior shows all day long), or the Disney Channel every FRiYAY morning (during the Disney Junior morning block, usually 6-10am).

Mickey and the Roadster Racers is absolutely Madison’s favorite and is all about Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto, racing around Hot Dog Hills and around the world. Each episode consists of 2 stories and all teach a lesson.

In one episode, Goofy gets a chance to compete against his movie hero, Morty McCool, in a daredevil competition! But when the REAL Morty turns out to be more of a “heel” than a hero, Goofy ends up being the one who saves the day for those troubled racers in need of a REAL hero. In the end, Goofy loses the competition, but wins the respect of all the other racers and competition sponsor, Mr. Bigby, who puts Goofy’s face on the label of his new motor oil can.

I have been teaching Madison that winning isn’t everything and it’s all about having fun. She also knows that it’s ok to “lose” because you can’t always be number 1, no matter how much you would like to be. I love that each episode of Mickey and the Roadster Racers teaches a lesson that she can take with her.

We sit down and watch the shows on Disney Junior together. Yes I watch them right along with her and we talk about what she saw, making it both an entertaining and learning experience. One way we enjoy them even more is with our very own Mickey and Minnie Cupcakes which are super easy to make and will make your FRiYAY morning even better.

Mickey and Minnie Mouse Cupcakes

Cupcake:

Favorite white and chocolate box mix

(required ingredients)

Confectioners Sugar – (yellow and pink)

Strawberry syrup

Shredded chocolate chips

Chocolate sandwich cookies

Directions:

Make your cupcakes as directed and set aside.

Frosting:

3 cups powdered sugar

2 Sticks of Softened Salted butter

2 tsp of vanilla extract

2 tbsp of milk

(chocolate powder for chocolate frosting)

Mixer

Directions:

Mix your powdered sugar and butter with your mixer on lower speed. You can also use your hand with a spoon in a bowl.

Stir in vanilla and milk until your frosting is smooth and can be spread easily. If your frosting is too thick, add a little bit more milk.

(For your chocolate frosting, add your chocolate powder.)

Be sure to taste your frosting before using.

I used the chocolate for Mickey Mouse and the regular frosting with Minnie Mouse. Swirl some of your strawberry syrup on Minnie’s cupcake and sprinkle with pink confectioner’s sugar. I used yellow and the shredded chocolate chips on Mickey.

Place your cookies in the back to represent the ears. Now you can enjoy your cupcakes while watching  back to back new episodes of Mickey and the Roadster Racers and Puppy Dog Pals starting at 8:30am Friday morning on Disney Channel.

So tune in and watch all new episodes of Disney Junior‘s Mickey and the Roadster Racers and Puppy Dog Pals when they premier FRiYAY morning on Disney Channel, and enjoy your Mickey and Minnie Cupcakes.
