5 Reasons to Book a Disney Cruise Today!

I’m just returning from a marvelous 4-day cruise to the Bahamas aboard the fabulous Disney Wonder as part of the Disney Social Media Moms Celebration. The Disney Wonder is one of the ships in the Disney Cruise Line fleet. It was our very first cruise, and I was not disappointed. Disney does what it does best: captivate and illuminate your senses. So why am I telling you to book your own Disney cruise today? Because I don’t want you to miss out on the awesomeness that is a Disney Cruise. Here are my top 5 reasons:

Exclusive Character Meet and Greet

While you can obviously do a meet and greet with the characters at any of the many Disney parks, there is something to be said for Minnie or Mickey dressed in their nautical outfits. On board a Disney Cruise Line is the only place you can get such an experience. Be sure to consult with your Disney Cruise Line app for the times when they will be available. However, if you want to meet the Frozen characters and the Disney Princesses, appointments will need to be made. These can be done before your cruise or while on board, as long as there is availability.

Fine Dining

Ok, Disney is known for their characters, but they’re also known for their fine dining. Just check out Epcot, but this isn’t about Epcot. Their onboard restaurants feature some amazing culinary choices as well, and it doesn’t just stop at the food; their in-house restaurant entertainment is spectacularly dazzling. If you’re on board the Disney Wonder, be sure to check out Tiana’s Place (as in The Princess and the Frog), known for their southern hospitality and charm. The food is amazing. You can get up close to Tiana, and she even gets off stage to interact with her guests. The waiters are friendly, and they all aim to please, so when you leave, you feel like you’re leaving family behind. They’re just that great!

If fine dining isn’t your thing and all you want are Mickey Bars (you know the ones you get addicted to while at Disney Parks), you can eat as much as you can because they’re FREE on board a Disney Cruise.

Exclusive Shows

Spectacular Broadway-style shows are in store for you. Shows such as Beauty and the Beast (Disney Dream), Frozen (Disney Wonder), and so much more. Each ship has its own exclusives. Have you ever heard of “Golden Mickey”? Unless you’ve been aboard one of Disney’s ships, you’re probably wondering what that is. Think the Oscars, but for Disney’s Cruise Line. It’s a Hollywood-style show that is exclusive to the cruise line, and it immerses you in most of Disney’s famous characters, complete with a red carpet pre-show. At the end, you have a chance to even grab a few Golden Mickey’s yourself and maybe even pick up your own Golden Mickey to commemorate the show.

Activities for You and Your Family

Now, sometimes you want some time for yourself as an adult, even though you’re with family. With salons and spas, you can take some time off, and you won’t even need to worry about your kids. Disney cruises come complete with youth clubs for the kids. With “It’s a Small World Nursery” (6 months–3 years) or the “Oceaneer Club” (3 years–12 years), parents can leave their little ones behind knowing that they’ll be cared for and entertained by Disney counselors. Security is their top priority, and your kids are probably safer there than anywhere else. As a matter of fact, kids very rarely want to leave. If the spa or salon isn’t quite your style, feel free to take a dip in the pool or hot tub, or maybe spend some quiet time in their adult-only lounge. There’s also a sports and fitness center for those still thinking about their body image while on vacation.

Sun, Sand and Sea

Last but certainly not least, Sun, Sand and Sea. Or if you would prefer snow, there’s a cruise for that too. Since I took one to the Bahamas, I’m going to focus on Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. Tired of Old Man Winter and want a getaway to somewhere exotic? Then Disney’s Castaway Cay is the perfect place for you. With lots of activities to keep you and your little ones occupied, there’s something for everyone. Sign up for the 5K or even take a bike ride around the island, get on a catamaran and enjoy a nice casual sail, or how about even getting up close to a stingray? If you just want to relax, then you can do that as well, and when you’re done, enjoy some shopping that is exclusive to the island. And don’t forget the fresh fruit! Disney’s Castaway Cay is the Caribbean island adventure you’ve been waiting for and is perfect for families.

So whether you’re looking for a nice vacation with the family or maybe you just want to get away, explore somewhere new, or just relax, booking a Disney Cruise Line vacation can do that all for you. Just sit back, relax, and be catered to on hand and foot. With not a care in the world, the only thing you have to worry about is getting back to reality when it’s all over. So what are you waiting for? Book your own Disney Cruise Line vacation today!
