The Best Way to “See” London – The Coca-Cola London Eye

Now you may notice that my post title states, “The Best Way to SEE London” and not the best way to get around London. There is a difference. Most people when they envision “seeing” London, they think of taking a bus tour and sure that is one way to “see” London, or even walking around London, which will take quite a lot of time. However, there is a much easier way to do so. What if you don’t have a lot of time, but you want to see as much as you can?

I was lucky enough to collaborate with the kind folks of The Coca-Cola London Eye, who provided Madison and I with tickets, to this once in a lifetime experience. The Coca-Cola London Eye is one of London, England’s must do if you’re a visitor or even if you’re local. We noticed that the weather in London is almost always cloudy and there was very rarely a clear day, it was also rather cold there on the day that we decided to brave the London Eye. If you’re afraid of heights then this might not be for you. Located on the South Bank of the River Thames, this is one of the largest Ferris Wheel in the world at 443ft, giving astonishing views of the House of Parliament, which houses the Clock Tower (aka Big Ben), Buckingham Palace and other London landmarks.

On the day that we visited, it wasn’t a very clear day and rather chilly. However, before you embark on the Coca-Cola London Eye, be sure enjoy the 4D cinema experience which gives you a virtual ride of the Coca-Cola London Eye complete with flying birds, included with each ticket. It’s definitely something you don’t want to miss. We were also happy that there were no lines when we were ready to board, but we also had Fast Track tickets so we were able to get on our ride rather quickly. The Coca-Cola London Eye has 32 air conditioned capsules and they each hold approximately 25 persons. The capsules are very clean and you get a full 360° aerial view. If you have a disabled member in your group, don’t worry, they are able to have 2 wheelchairs per capsule. Here are just a few of the photos we were able to take.

Houses of Parliament & Big Ben

The ride lasts approximately 30 minutes and the views were more than spectacular, this is definitely one experience you don’t want to miss if you’re visiting London. We’ve heard that the view is really stunning at nights and maybe on a next trip we may do it at night for the experience. If you want to keep it a little bit more personal, you can book your own private capsule complete with champagne or not, making it extra special. I’m thinking being proposed to over London would be oh so wonderful.

They are open daily from 10:00am – 10:30pm but please check the website for extended hours or for opening delays. So if you’re heading to London, but don’t have a lot of time to sight see, or even if you do, make the Coca-Cola London Eye a must do on your list. Get your tickets online now.
