Candy Heart Pops

“Love is still in the air, everywhere I look around.

Love is in the air, every sight and every sound.”

Those lyrics made famous by John Paul Young is one that I remember singing when I was younger. It was one of my dad’s favorite and we would sing it together. There are very few songs that bring back such bittersweet memories and this is one of them. I’m doing this post on Valentines Day but I personally think that everyday should be celebrated with love. Why do we dedicate just one day for love? Why not make it everyday? I’m not a big fan of candy and my kids would tell you that it’s a very rare day when they’re allowed some. Valentine’s Day is an exception and every once in a while I would make some just because. I control what goes in them and I also limit how much they can have. These candy heart pops are not only easy to make but they are perfect for gifting as well.

Here is what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

Wilton red candy melts

Pink confetti sprinkles

You will also need-

White candy sticks

Wilton heart mold pan

Microwave

Directions:

1. In a microwave safe bowl, melt your red candy melts for approximately 3-4 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted.

2. Put a teaspoon of your pink confetti sprinkles in the bottom of your heart molds.

3. Put a white candy stick in the slot at the bottom of the heart mold.

4. Start scooping melted red candy in the heart molds using a spoon.

5. Twist your stick to make sure the melted candy is covering all sides of your stick.

6. Set your pan in the fridge for about 5-10 minutes.

7. Your heart pops will pop right out of your molds.

Your kids would enjoy passing these out and don’t just think of these for Valentines Day. Think about birthday parties and the upcoming Mother’s Day. After all who loves you more than mom? Well that’s what I tell my kids. 🙂

Note:
Although we used a candy heart mold you can buy any mold and add the sticks at the top.
