Traditional Christmas Tablescape Idea

This week is going to be special. Christmas is officially 25 days away and I know a few people have been looking into tablescape ideas, so I want to share not just our tablescape idea with you but also the food that we served with it as well. This past weekend I went crazy shopping. After all there were some amazing sales happening both online and in stores. I didn’t join in the madness of the Thursday night shopping as some do but I did happen to go out later on Friday and grab a few things. We had an amazing Thanksgiving, but with the Christmas holidays  approaching, I’ve been thinking of ways to spiffy up my dining room table. After all the other rooms have already begun to look a lot like Christmas and why not my dining room. I bought new plates, new silverware and even new tabletop decor. Now that Madison is older and can sit at the family table I decided that I was going to need new dinnerware. Preferably with servings for 8 since my table seats 8. Setting up a traditional Christmas tablescape doesn’t have to cost a lot of money either, well not unless you want it too. You can check out this fairly inexpensive one below based on a table setting for six.

Supplies needed:

6 Red Chargers {Hobby Lobby}

6 White Plates

6 Set of Silverware

6 Crystal Glasses

6 Cream w/ Gold Trim Napkins or you can use red or green napkins {Pier 1 Imports}

6 Assorted Christmas Leaves {Hobby Lobby}

1 Christmas Garland {Hobby Lobby}

2 Green Felt Christmas Trees & 2 Red Felt Christmas Trees {Hobby Lobby}

Christmas Wrapping Paper {Hobby Lobby}

1 White Tablecloth

Directions:

Lay down White Tablecloth. Then roll Christmas Wrapping Paper on top. This is a simple way to add a festive runner to your table but saves time and money. When you’re done with it, just pull it up and toss it in the trash.

Lay Christmas Garland in the center of the table. Followed by placing Green and Red Christmas Trees throughout the table.

Next, set out the red chargers. Then lay your napkin, followed by the plates, silverware, and glassware for each table setting.

Add a Christmas Leaf/Arrangement on the left side of each plate. *Note: It’s important to mention to shake the Christmas leaf out first. You don’t want glitter or small pieces left on the plate for your guest.

Fold the top half of the napkin over each white plate.

I filled each glass with fresh cranberries. This is a creative way to add little pops of festivities throughout the table.

And that’s all you need. You don’t want to add a lot of things to your tablescape. Sometimes less is more. After all the food has to go somewhere!

Enjoy!
