Trick Or Treat With Snoopy & These Delicious Pumpkin Dog Biscuits ~ #peanutsmovie

Celebrate the holidays with Snoopy and with these pumpkin dog biscuits that your own doggies would enjoy.

Can you believe that very soon it’s going to be Halloween? In just a few weeks, our little ones and sometimes the grownups will be dressed in their costumes, happy to be the ghouls and goblins that we only love around this time. I remember growing up, my costume consisted of a white sheet with cutout holes because it was fun to be a ghost. Now the costumes have become more elaborate and costly as well.

Now, it’s not all ghosts; there are also cute ones, such as princesses. I know my little one hasn’t “let it go” yet, so she’s a princess this year. Halloween, however, doesn’t have to involve lots of money; in fact, this year you can go trick-or-treating with your very own Peanuts-branded shopping bag or trick-or-treat bags to support the Peanuts Movie from Safeway. Are you as excited for the movie release on November 6th as I am?

Albertsons Safeway is the official grocery partner of the Peanuts movie and has designed two exclusive reusable Peanuts-branded shopping bags / trick-or-treat bags to support the campaign.  These reusable bags will be available in stores as a free (with purchase, while supply lasts) trick-or-treat bag given to shoppers who purchase three participating items. Participating brands include:

• Horizon Organics

• Coke (Honest and Pure Leaf)

• Nestle

• Johnsonville

• Ziploc

• Johnson & Johnson

• All

• Tyson

• Pop Secret

• Snack Pack (ConAgra)

• DPSG

• Schwan’s (Red Baron’s)

• Rich Products(sugar cookies and cakes in the deli)

• ACH Foods/Spice Islands

• Bertolli/Ragu

• Kellogg’s

We were able to snag one of the trick-or-treating bags on our latest shopping trip to Safeway, and we just love it. Knowing that it’s reusable is an added bonus.

Now, to help celebrate the Peanuts movie, we ourselves want to share with you our pumpkin dog biscuits. After all, who doesn’t love Snoopy, and I’m sure that even he would approve of these?

Pumpkin Dog Biscuits

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour

2 eggs

1 cup pumpkin puree

3 TBS peanut butter

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 F

Combine the peanut butter, pumpkin puree, and eggs in a bowl. Mix until combined.

Add the flour and stir together until the batter becomes crumbly, then use your hands to make sure the ingredients are blended and form a large dough ball.

Use a rolling pin, roll the dough out until it’s about 1/4 inch thick.

Take your desired cookie cutter and start cutting out. You could also use a butter knife and cut small squares if you don’t have a cookie cutter.

Place cut out pieces on an ungreased cookie sheet.

I used a fork to poke holes in the tops, simply for style. This is optional.

Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes.

Let cool completely before giving to your dog.

Stored in an airtight container on the counter these treats will last a few days.

Stored in the refrigerator, they should last a week.

Stored in the freezer 2-3 weeks.

Remember to grab your Peanuts Movie shopping bag or trick-or-treat from your local Safeway. They are very limited so grab yours today and don’t miss out on the Peanuts Movie coming to a theatre near you on November 6th.

Let’s discuss: Are you going to see the Peanuts Movie and who is your favorite character?
