Papaya, Pineapple & Lemon Lemonade

If you recently tried my Mango Mint Punch or even read my post you may remember me talking about my days in the Caribbean. The trees I climbed, the fruits that my parents had planted in the backyard and how much fun I generally had growing up in the Caribbean. There is quite a different vibe as I like to call it in the Caribbean compared to the USA. I grew up eating a lot of fresh picked right off the tree fruits. Our juices were also made from those same fruits. My mother was of the opinion that processed juices weren't good for you so we would have fresh pomegranate juice, fresh squeezed lime or lemon juices. Even the one that I'm sharing with you, our Papaya, Pineapple and Lemon Lemonade would have been freshly picked and made. I do miss those days and even now I try to make my juices as fresh as possible. While it's not always possible I try and make it as much as I can. Whenever I travel to the Caribbean I try and bring back as much as I can to have a slice of the Caribbean. This drink will have you thinking that you're on a beautiful beach with the sun shining down on you. Waters as clear as the sky so that you can see your toes. So enjoy my slice of the Caribbean that I share with you today.

Fresh Papaya

That papaya tree that you see in the photo is actually one in my parents backyard. I took this photo during my trip back to our lovely island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines Christmas 2014. If you've never visited a Caribbean island, I would suggest either planning on taking a trip to one of the islands or even a Caribbean cruise. Trust me you won't regret it.

Now here is what you'll need for our Papaya, Pineapple and Lemon Lemonade.

1/3 cup pineapple juice
1/3 cup san pellegrino limonata
1/3 cup lemonade
1 pineapple ring
1 lemon wedge
1 papaya plank
ice cubes
rosemary sprig

Slice fruit and set aside

In a martini shaker add pineapple juice, limonata, lemonade and ice cubes and shake like there's no tomorrow.

Strain into a chilled glass filled with ice cubes.

Garnish with lemon wedges, pineapple ring and papaya plank.

Serve and enjoy.

Let's discuss: Which drink reminds you of the Caribbean if you've ever had the pleasure of visiting?

  2. Now that looks like a dessert. It looks and sounds so good that I am going to have to try and make this. I have never been to the Caribbean before but I bet they have a lot of great drinks.
