If music be the food of love, play on! I've said it over and over that music has so many benefits for children. Not only does it build confidence but it also helps with our creative thinking. I have always enjoyed music. Whether it be banging on pots and pans and then recently a drum, singing songs while driving in the car or even dancing along to the newest hit on the radio. Music brings out the best in all of us. It has helped with my language development and even my memory retention. How many of you can actually repeat the ABC song? You learned it when you were just a toddler like me and you still remember. See what I said about memory? Well what about musical instruments?  What better way to follow up your love of music than with a musical instrument? I was lucky enough to be offered my very own 30 Key Classic Baby Grand Piano by the Schoenhut Piano Company. I think it was time that I became the next baby Mozart!

Before I go into details, it does come in a box that you can gift-wrap. And once taken out of the box the set up was very easy. It doesn't take too long to put together and the instructions are very clear and well written. It is currently available in Black, White and Pink and I received the white version.

Schoenhut's miniature version of a baby grand piano is designed to encourage a child to play and develop a love of music. Elegant in appearance with graceful spindle legs, yet extremely durable and sturdy, it makes a beautiful addition to any home. This is made of wood so you know that it will last a very long time. Great for gift giving for not only the holidays but birthdays, graduations and any other special occasion you deem it for. The look and quality of this piano is superb, and if you didn't know better, you would certainly not think or call it a toy.

The piano features 30 keys and each plays a lovely chime-like tone which are produced by small hammers striking metal rods. That special sound makes Schoenhut toy pianos very unique. Since it doesn't have strings there will be no need to tune it. It also comes with a songbook containing lots of familiar tunes that you can sign along to.

The keys are perfect for tiny fingers and although this is recommended from age 3 and up, I can say that your 1 year old would most thoroughly enjoy playing this as well. There are no small parts to choke on and the bench is very well built. I currently weigh 27 pounds and I can sit on it very comfortably without fear of it tipping over.

The Schoenhut Classic Baby Grand has won numerous awards and was recognized by the Toy Insider for being a Top Summer Toy for 2014. A very well deserved win if you ask me. Take a look into their ToyPianoWorld where they highlight relevant Schoenhut news and musicians’ latest work. You won't be disappointed.

All in all this a very well built musical toy that I highly recommend for any one musically inclined. Meaning everyone! You will love banging on the key while you try and play your favorite musical piece. Before you know it you'll be the next Beethoven or Mozart thanks to Schoenhut and their Classic Baby Grand. It definitely gets my TWO TINY THUMBS UP!

Schoenhut Toy Pianos are currently available at online retailers such at Bloomingdales, ToysRUs and Amazon just to name a few.
