Join the Mighty Fight Against Childhood Cancer‏ With Kaela

How many of my readers hate that dreaded C word like I do? If you’ve been following along with me for some time you may know that my grandfather died of that dreaded C word, and my grandma is currently fighting it as well. Well today I want to focus the spotlight on the kids who are fighting and the people who are helping with that fight. When contacted by Aunt Anne’s team to join the mighty fight with Alex’s Lemonade Stand, there was no way I was going to say no. While St. Jude’s and Susan G. Komen are both of mommy’s charities, anything that can help bring that dreaded disease to an end is what we’re all about. We were not paid to do this post and we did not receive any compensation of any kind, this is something that we truly believe in and we were only to happy to share.

Today I want to focus the spotlight on our Mini but Mighty Hero of the week Kaela.

Kaela hails from Sayreville, NJ and was diagnosed with osteosarcoma (bone cancer) just before her fifth birthday. Although she has faced many challenges in her short life, including an above-the-knee amputation on her left leg, she has remained brave and positive through it all. Just look at that beautiful smile on her face. She continues to inspire others by volunteering and raising awareness about the need for more funding. You can read more about Kaela on Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation website.

This summer Auntie Anne’s is proud to partner with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation in the fight against childhood cancer. But the fight is far from over – and they need your support!

This summer, the goal is to find cures for children who are in the mighty fight of their life against cancer.

So how can you help? By donating, you’re helping Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation fund potentially life-saving cancer research. Here is what your donation could fund:

  • $5: Supports Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation one cup at a time
  • $15: Provides a gas card to help a family drive to a hospital for treatment
  • $25: Funds a half hour of childhood cancer research
  • $50: Funds one hour of childhood cancer research
  • $100: Enables a family to reside at a nearby hotel so they can stay close to their child receiving treatment
  • $400: Funds one day of childhood cancer research

If the goal of $35,000 is reached, then they will be able to help fund 700 hours of childhood cancer research! In appreciation of your donation, Auntie Anne’s will email all donors a $1 off coupon, valid at participating U.S. stores, within 7-10 days after your contribution.

So what are you waiting for? Join the Mighty Fight against Cancer with Alex Lemonade Stand and donate today. Every donation count and be sure to share this with your friends and family.
