My First Puzzle & Match It Sets from The Learning Journey International – Review & Giveaway

Disclaimer: I received products from The Learning Journey International. No other compensation was received. Though the products were free, opinions are 100% my very own.

I don’t know if you know this, but if not I’m going to tell you anyway. That’s how I am. I don’t like keeping secrets. I am really not that good at keeping them anyway. My brothers like to call me a snitch because I am always the first to rat someone out. Yeah I’m a tattletale but that’s a moot point. If they weren’t doing something bad to begin with they would be just fine. Well before I get totally sidetracked, I did have something to share with you. I love The Learning Journey International! Yeah I said it and I mean it as well. You may not remember this but I did a Marble Mania review for them last year. Well my brother Mikael did and I got to help out a little. It was really a lot of fun, so I was happy when this year I got offered to do a review just for me. No it’s nothing as fancy as Mikael’s review but it is still totally awesome to me. As I may have mentioned before mommy likes anything that challenges me. When The Learning Journey International emailed mommy, letting her know that they had some new puzzles geared for the little ones like me, aged 2 years and up, and offered to do a review and giveaway for my readers, mommy said “yes”. There was no way I was going to let mommy say “no”. They are known for making fun and educational toys and games for kids and I wanted to be a part of that.

I love doing puzzles and I have a few that mommy bought at Tarjay that I currently play with, with the help of mommy and my brother of course. They help with my hand to eye coordination and my memory skills. Mommy and I were sent 2 sets of My First Match It game and My First Puzzle set. From the moment mommy opened the box I forgot about everything else. I wanted to get busy putting puzzles together!

Now the My First Puzzle sets contains four sets of puzzles and are great for the beginner and those who have been doing them a bit longer than me. These range from 2 pieces, 4 pieces, 6 pieces and 8 pieces. Of course the 2 piece was very easy for me but I had a little difficulty putting the 6 and 8 together all by myself. Now you may be wondering, how do I differentiate between all the pieces in the box. Well they thought about that. They are numbered on the back, so you match the numbers to the puzzles. Check out my photo below. You may notice that the 2 piece and the 8 piece are there. Now I just had to find the other 2 piece and the rest of the 8 pieces and voila!

Each box of puzzle has it’s own unique theme and I was sent the My First Puzzle Set Shapes and the My First Puzzle Set Jungle version. Now not only are they fun but they are also educational. You are able to learn about shapes and animals in the jungle. Put them together and you can talk about what is happening on the puzzle encouraging chatter.

Next I want to go briefly into the My First Match It sets. I was sent the Things That Go and All My Toys. This was by far my very favorite. It was the one that I wanted to do over and over. These consisted of 15 themed puzzles. Things That Go introduced me to vehicles that I recognized and a few that I didn’t. All My Toys featured a few of my favorite toys as well.

Now this was really simple to do. All I had to do was the match the pieces together. At first I couldn’t figure it out but I slowly came to realize that each piece matched with another. Here my problem solving skills were kicking in. As no two puzzles were cut the same it was easy as figuring out what didn’t match if I didn’t look at the photo. I had a blast doing this and after a while didn’t need mommy’s help at all.

Now if you think that mommy was helping me do these, remember that I’m always truthful in my reviews. Mommy did a quick video of me showing how quickly I caught on to the My First Match It game. Don’t laugh at me talking, I’m very slowly catching on.

Puzzles are a great way to help your little one with their problem solving skills as you can see. They are also a great way to help develop their fine motor skills as well. My hand to eye coordination is getting much better and as you can see so is my comprehension skills. The My First Puzzle and Match It sets from The Learning Journey International gets my TWO TINY THUMBS UP!
