The lovely people over at MAM, well I think they're lovely because they sent me things that I love. Yes, I love brushing my teeth. Unlike my stinky brothers, brushing is something I really enjoy.
MAM sent me their line of oral care toothbrushes. I received the Training Brush, The First Brush and the Learn to Brush Set which includes both the Training and the First brush. Although the Training and First Brush may look alike there is a major difference which I will explain below.
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that parents establish a dental routine within 6 months of the first tooth eruption and no later than 12 months of age. MAM, a global leader in baby care products, helps make oral care simple for families with an assortment of innovative products that thoughtfully blend innovation, form, and function to help keep even the tiniest mouths healthy.
After the First Tooth Appears:
MAM Training Brush (6+ months)
After the first tooth erupts, the AAPD recommends that parents start brushing baby’s teeth twice a day with a soft-bristled children’s toothbrush. The MAM Training Brush introduces baby to the toothbrush and is designed to make brushing baby’s first teeth safe and easy.
The two-sided brush includes a texturized, chewable head for massaging gums and cleaning the tongue on one end and a true toothbrush with soft, rounded bristles to gently remove plaque and bacteria from teeth on the other. The brush’s round head is specially designed to adapt to my tiny mouth and an extra-long handle allows for mommy and me to hold the training brush together for guided brushing. Available in green, pink and blue; suggested retail price: $5.99.
I really enjoyed brushing my teeth with the Training Brush but because of the long handle which needed mommy's help I did it very awkwardly. The bristles were soft as they said they were going to be and the toothpaste guide was a huge plus for me and mommy alike. It is difficult calculating how much toothpaste you need and this really helped.
With this I can brush on my own just like mommy and daddy with the MAM First Brush. A short compact handle is easier for me to grasp and, like the brand’s training brush, features a round head that fits perfectly in my little mouth. Soft, rounded bristles gently remove plaque and bacteria from my teeth as well.
Because the AAPD recommends a pea size amount of fluoride toothpaste at age 2, the brush’s head features helpful indicator bristles in red to help mommy determine the correct amount of toothpaste for me. (The AAPD also recommends a smear of fluoride toothpaste for children under 2 who are at-risk for tooth decay. Health care professionals and pediatric dentists can help parents determine if their baby is considered at-risk.) Available in green, pink and blue; suggested retail price: $3.99.
Like all MAM products, the MAM Oral Care products are BPA-free, PVC-free, lead-free and CPSIA-compliant.
Now the First Brush was my very favorite. I've been brushing with mommy's help for quite some time but I love brushing by myself. It's only allowed after mommy has brushed my teeth though. It was just the right size for my little hands and I didn't want to stop brushing. Once again mommy and I loved the toothpaste guide and the soft bristles.

This was my favorite because it fit perfectly. Once again don't waste water like mommy! |

ReplyDeleteOur 3 year old daughter June loves to brush her teeth! As soon as she hears me say it's time she is off and running to the bathroom... I think it's because she likes to turn the water on and off :) lol Our 7 month old daughter is just using the finger brush right now because she just has gums, and she likes to chew on my finger when I try to brush for her :) lol
