It's been quite a while since my husband and I have ventured out together as in 'alone'. Normally we would take family trips or excursions, and while family time is important, it's also essential to have date nights, or afternoons, alone with your significant other. This past weekend, my husband and I decided to head to Red Lobster®, because after all, the Lobsterfest event is here and if you didn't know, it's my one favorite time of the year. Last year my daughter celebrated her 21st birthday, and guess where I took her? That's right! To Red Lobster's Lobsterfest and what a celebration it was. So we just had to outdo ourselves this year and I want to tell you all about it.

However, let me begin by saying that I apologize for the quality of my photos as they were mostly taken with my cellphone.

I have to tell you that my Colorado Springs location at Cinema Point is the bomb! If you think your Red Lobster® is amazing, mine is even more so. Whenever I visit, the urge to head to a beach is always strong, with those beach chairs out front, it's such a picturesque location, both in and out, however, besides that - the staff here is ahh-mazing, and that included my lovely server Meagan pictured below. She was just the best!

We decided to start our date off with drinks since I wanted to try their newest drinks on the menu. There are currently two new drinks on the Lobsterfest meun.

  • Tropical White Sangria – Moscato, pineapple and mango juices with a splash of Sprite® for a touch of fizz. (This is served with a 50th Anniversary wine charm, that you can also purchase without even ordering the drink).
  • Lobster Lover’s Punch – Captain Morgan®, Bacardi® and Malibu® rum, shaken with berry and pineapple juice. (This is served in a 50th Anniversary collectible glass, that is also available for purchase without the drink order).

My husband settle for the Lobster Lover's Punch and I just had to have the Tropical White Sangria. The charm charmed me so much (noticed what I did there?) that I ended up getting all four. However, my husband got to take home his 50th anniversary glass.

Normally, we would choose and appetizer whenever we go out to eat, and there's currently a new appetizer, the Chilled Lobster and Shrimp Cocktail which features chilled split petite Maine lobster tails and jumbo shrimp served with Red Lobster’s signature cocktail sauce, but this time we decided to forego the appetizer and head straight into our entrees. I wanted to save room for all the new stuff that was on the menu, especially their new Lobster Truffle Mac & Cheese. The Lobsterfest menu this year features lots of delicious craveable new flavors including:

  • NEW! Lobster Truffle Mac & Cheese – featuring Maine and langostino lobster tossed with cavatappi pasta in a cheesy truffle lobster cream, topped with toasted Parmesan panko crumb.

  • NEW! Stuffed Tilapia with Langostino Lobster – featuring fresh tilapia roasted with Red Lobster’s signature seafood stuffing and topped with langostino lobster in a creamy lobster beurre blanc. Served with choice of two sides.
  • NEW! Dueling Lobster Tails™ – featuring Maine lobster tail steamed in parchment paper with fresh herbs, tomatoes and lemon, paired with a grilled Maine lobster tail topped with shrimp, bay scallops and roasted bell peppers in a rich sherry lobster cream. Served with choice of side.

  • NEW! Lobsterfest® Surf and Turf – featuring tender Maine lobster tail paired with choice of a wood-grilled sirloin, NY Strip or filet mignon, topped with a langostino and Maine lobster beurre blanc. Served with mashed potatoes and choice of side.
  • Lobster Lover’s Dream® a succulent roasted rock lobster tail and sweet split Maine lobster tail, steamed and served with lobster and shrimp linguini Alfredo.

  • You can also choose from the popular Ultimate Feast®, Seaport Lobster and Shrimp, Wood-Grilled Lobster, Shrimp and Salmon, and Bar Harbor Bake.
Now no meal is complete without a delectable dessert and Red Lobster® does not disappoint. We treated ourselves to their Brownie Overload, which is perfect for two. I call it the ultimate date night dessert. This features a warm brownie served with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, topped with caramel, fudge, whipped cream and honey roasted pecans. Talk about heaven!!

We had an amazing time at Red Lobster® and during dinner my husband asked "where does Red Lobster® get all this lobster?". It's a question that has always been on my mind whenever Lobsterfest comes around, and I'm sure most of you would like to know as well.

Well, all of the seafood served at Red Lobster® is sourced in a manner that is Traceable, Sustainable and Responsible to ensure that a healthy seafood supply exists now and for generations. That means that my great-great-great-great grandkids will be enjoying Lobsterfest years from now. Now I'm not going to give you a million reasons why date nights are important to have with your significant other, but I am going to give you two good ones. For most of us, we don't do date nights as often as we should because it's all about scheduling time, and we may not like leaving the kids at home with a babysitter, however, it's crucial that you do so. You may not be have a date night every single week, but it's imperative that you try to have one at least twice monthly. It's not all about having fun, but growing together. So here are my main two reasons for having date nights with your significant other.

1. It increases your communication
Communication is important in a relationship and when you're home with the family, the topics are usually family oriented. However, on a date night, you leave your worries at home (well you really should) and you focus on each other. I've noticed that when my husband and I are alone together, we tend to communicate more about our needs and wants in life, instead of what the kids need. Here's a tip for you: - Leave the cellphones away and off the table, put them on silent and focus on each other, everything else can wait until later.

2. It can bring the spark back to a marriage
After being married for many years it can seem as though you're tuck doing the same routine over and over again. Date nights can rekindle that romance, and strengthen the bond that you have together. Dating is the core of your relationship, so never stop dating each other and continue doing little things to keep that spark alive.

And remember the Red Lobster® Lobsterfest Event is happening right now, but only for a limited time, so now is a great time to enjoy those date nights. Get out there and do it!

  1. Definitely agree about date night and we try our best to get one in at least once a month here. By the way, I haven't been to Red Lobster in so long as my husband is not a seafood person. But as a kid I used to go all the time with my parents as they happen to love all sorts of seafood. So some of my best memories are from going out to dinner with them to Red Lobster. So thanks for giving em that walk down memory lane this morning here :)

    1. That's the thing Janine, you need to take him because they also do a mean steak as well, it's really not all about seafood. I have sworn off red meat for a while so anything seafood is right up my alley, and I'm happy to see that I took you down memory lane a bit today.

  2. Before I comment can I just say I love your hair :). Date nights are important I think every couple should make time for a few hours on their own. We visited a Red Lobster when we were in the USA as my husband loves lobster, I remember the biscuits they were amazing.

    1. Thank you. And yes those cheddar biscuits are the bomb. It's why I couldn't do an appetizer as well. They serve them to you and by the time you've eaten your full, you won't be able to enjoy your entree. Did you know that you can now get them in a box to make at home? I'm not sure where you live, but they're now available in our supermarkets.

  3. I love Red Lobster! It makes for a perfect date night!!! The food looked delicious!

  4. Definitely agree that date night is important! It's easy to slip into a routine but I think going out together to new places definitely livens up a relationship. And I absolutely love lobster, wish there was a restaurant like this near me!

  5. Do you know I have never ever tried lobster! I would totally be up for trying that mac n cheese though, great introduction for me.

  6. Wow that looks different, never been to anywhere like that and also never eaten Lobster.

  7. The Lobster Truffle Mac & Cheese looks mouthwatering! Hope you enjoyed your evening out and my folks need to do more of it x

  8. Clearly it looks like the both of you had a fabulous date night filled with some amazing food and drinks. Keep the spark going.

  9. this reminds me my partner and I should really plan a date night soon - we go out and do things most weekends, but it tends to be errands or necessary tasks. I haven't been to a Red Lobster in years and years, but maybe next time I am in the US we will stop by

  10. I would love to have dinner one day at Red Lobster! I have only tried grilled lobster, which was delicious, but the dishes you've talked about take it so much to the next level!

  11. You and your husband are so cute! I love how stylish you both are! This food looks so delicious! It's great how you make time for each other and you still date! #relationshipgoals

  12. I've never had lobster before! I always assume that I wouldn't like it but I may well do! I need to try it!

  13. You're both such great dressers!
I would love to go to Red Lobster but there isn't one near me. :-(
Growing up, we had one near us in NJ so that was nice. It's always awesome to read about sustainable fishing and also that people always have great experiences there.

  14. How I so wish I lived close enough to attend losterfest how awesome is that. Plus I agree on why date nights are important.

  15. We make date nights a regular part of our routine. They're one of the best ways to remember that we're still a couple and not just a couple of parents. We also make Lobsterfest a part of them when it comes around. We love seafood.

  16. I have to admit our date nights are few and far between but quality not quantity is the rule. We do have fun at my events whenever he goes. Red Lobster really looks like it has stepped up its game and is a great night out for any couple.

  17. Who can say no to Date Night, especially when the kids are taken care of? I feel Red Lobster is a great place to go. Even if your significant other isn't a fan of seafood, they do have other meals, so that the experience can be enjoyable for both of you.

  18. Oh I love those charms! Date nights with your spouse are really important, in my opinion. A chance to get away, unwind, and reconnect. Red Lobster would be on my list of places to have date night.

  19. I’ve never actually tried lobster before, and don’t believe we have that restaurant here, but it sure does sound delicious

  20. Date nights are SO important! I would love to get to a Red Lobster for a date night - my husbands favourite place to eat! Maybe before baby arrives we can squeeze in one night out! Our date nights for the last 12 years have mostly been at home! - Jeanine

  21. Sounds like such a fun night! My husband and i desperately need date nights more often!

  22. I did lobsterfest last year it was so good. What did Beyonce say when she took her man to Red Lobster...ok she co-signs!

  23. Date nights are so important. I try to make them a priority at least once a month. You know you'll always get treated well at Red Lobster.

  24. Such a beautiful message for couples. It's really important to have date nights regardless if you're just newlyweds or have been married for a long time. Looks like Red Lobster has a lot to offer. That truffle mac n cheese sounds like heaven, as well as all the other items on their menu. Love that dessert!

  25. Date nights are so important! Hubby and I are always trying to schedule them!

  26. I totally agree that couples whether you are already married or just starting out really needs date night to improve your communication. Those dish looks so appetizing and mouthwatering!

  27. Oooh, what a nice date night. Those drinks look so good. And the wine charms? Those are so cute! I am looking at all of this delicious food and haven't even had breakfast yet. I think date nights are a must just to have some time to catch up and reconnect. We usually go once or twice a month if we can.

  28. Red Lobster looks so yum! Date nights are very important I think. It's important to make time for each other x
