Control Your Garage With Your Voice ~ #MyQHomeBridge

I have been making my home a little smarter over the past year. We’ve installed a smart thermostat, there are smart lights and so much more. However, my husband has been complaining that my mind isn’t as smart as it used to be. I have to admit that my memory has been shot. It seems that the older I get, the less I remember, for example, I have a habit of leaving home and forgetting to close the garage door. It’s not that I do it on purpose, but that I just don’t remember whether I’ve closed it or not. If you have the same problem I do, MyQ® Home Bridge by Chamberlain can help you.

The MyQ® Home Bridge by Chamberlain installs easily in minutes and works with your home’s existing Wi-Fi connection. You can control it via your smartphone and works with most brands of garage door openers manufactured after 1994. Since I already owned a compatible device I was able to use operate my garage door using my phone via the MyQ® app. I could see whether or not my garage door was open without having to get up and go to take a look, and with a touch I could close it. Now it’s made even easier, because I can use my voice to do so.

I have to admit here that connecting didn’t go as flawless as I would have wanted it to. The MyQ® Home Bridge requires access to you WiFi using the 2.4GHz and my smart router would not let it do so. After contacting my router company, I found out that it was much easier to just switch out my router which we did. Once we did that, it was a very simple connection.

So what do I love about the MyQ® Home Bridge?

Control your garage and check its status from anywhere.

And when I say anywhere, I mean anywhere! It doesn’t matter if you’re 2 or 2000 miles away. Now no more late night trips to your garage just to make sure that it wasn’t left open. Or if you’re away, there’s no need to send the neighbor to check for you either. With the MyQ® Home Bridge you can check the status and close or open your garage doors no matter where you are. You can even control MyQ® lights if you have it available.

Receive real-time alerts when there’s activity

Ever wanted to know when someone opens your garage, or maybe want to know what time your child comes in at night? Then you can receive real time alerts which lets you know exactly when your garage door open and closes, all in real time.

Create schedules

Your garage just got a whole lot smarter. Now you can create schedules to close your garage door or even to have your lights turn on or off at times you designate. This security feature is awesome, especially when you want others to think that you’re at home.

Home Kit Features

This is the best feature ever!  MyQ®Home Bridge is compatible with Apple HomeKit™ Siri® Voice Control, so now I can ask Siri® to open or close my garage door or check on it’s status, all by just using my voice. This means that I no longer even have to open the app. I simple ask Siri® and get a response.

The MyQ® Home Bridge comes complete with everything that you need. The WiFi hub, mounting bracket, power code and installation guide. All you need to get started is a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi signal that can be accessed from your garage, the MyQ® app and a MyQ® account. You can download the app via the Google Play or App Store.

So make your home and garage a little bit smarter, control your garage door with the sound of your voice or via the app with the MyQ® Home Bridge. You’re going to love it!
