Reasons You Should Travel to the US in the Fall

If you still have a few holidays left before the end of this year and are wondering where you should take your next vacation-then I recommend traveling to the US.

There are numerous festivals that happen across the US during winter months, and there is so much to do.  In the US harvest festivals are the traditional way to welcome the winter season. There are 21 celebrations altogether, which happen across different states. You can book a holiday to attend a few or all of them.

There are few festivals, which are worthy of mentioning and sound like a treat to attend. First of all, there is the Country Living Fair, which takes place in two locations, Ohio and at Atlanta (Oct 27-29). This is all about delicious food from local vendors, seminars, and demonstrations. The state of Ohio hosts a Circleville Pumpkin Show during the third week of October. More than 10,000 pounds of pumpkins are used to decorate the streets.

If you really like Halloween and pumpkins, then you would not want to miss out the Arboretum festival in Texas, which takes place from September till November. During this event, 75,000 pumpkins are used to make an entire pumpkin village, which is a sight to see.

There are plenty of things happening during Oct-Nov in Las Vegas this year. Stand-up comedy shows include Mike Tyson at the MGM Grand, Ray Romano at the Mirage, Bill Engvall and Whoopie Goldberg at the Treasure Island. If you are in the mood for concerts then-popular stars such as Britney Spears, Elton John, Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Santana and much more have been booked at different venues throughout October and November.

Las Vegas is known for extravagant masquerade parties - you can attend the Fetish and Fantasy Ball happening on 28 October at the Red Rock Casino. It has been dubbed as “one of the five events you have to attend before you die” by the Maxim magazine. Or if you fancy a monster themed party then be sure to check out Fright Fest at Fremont Street. This party combines Halloween and Oktoberfest complete with live entertainment and musicals. You can check out this complete list of 2017 Holiday Masquerades by city.

The fall festivities in the US have something to offer for everyone-even coffee lovers. Kona Coffee Cultural Fest (3-12 Nov) is the oldest food festival in Hawaii. It celebrates the state’s coffee farmers, art and farm shows and a coffee cupping competition. Next is the Fall Festival of Houses and Gardens, which is a popular three-day festival in South Carolina. It starts off during Oct 27 by welcoming visitors to view a selection of private homes and gardens. The visitors can enjoy regional specialties while viewing three centuries of architecture.

If you enjoy races, then Virginia holds and International Gold Cup on 28 October. You can enjoy the thrill of horse races and spend a whole day having fun shopping, entering competitions and enjoying authentic food.

No matter where you go to visit, there is something for everyone in the US during the autumn festivities.
