Raspberry Moscow Mule & Jords Wood Watch - #FathersDay

Surprise dad this Father's Day with a  Jord Wood Watch and a Raspberry Moscow Mule.

With Father's Day approaching I needed something to surprise my husband with as he's an amazing father, no matter how terrible of a husband he may be (it's our inside joke). I wanted to get him something that was unique and fun, but also practical. He's a lover of watches and owns quite a collection, but of course he didn't have one made of wood. I personally believe that watches should tell more than just the time. They should tell a story. For example, every time I see a watch with a steel band, I'm ofttimes reminded of my dad who just LOVED those watches. They evoke memories of my dad sitting me on his lap and reading a book together while he would every now and then glance at his watch. Not necessarily to keep track of the time, but more to see what time it actually was. Jord Wood Watches are unique in themselves and are simply breathtaking.

Raspberry Moscow Mule

Now while dad will just love his watch, how about making him a drink as well? I am a big fan of Moscow Mules. They are super easy to make and are refreshing and look and taste amazing in their copper mugs, in which they are served. While you can serve them in a regular glass, the copper mug does make all the difference. It keeps it colder and just taste so much better to me. Copper Mugs have gone down in prices over the years and you can get them at very affordable prices both online and in stores. For my Moscow Mule I made a few variations. While most use plain vodka, I decided to use a flavored one. I purchased the Absolut Raspberri Vodka which tastes great. I also went with lemons instead of the usual limes and you won't believe the difference the lemons made. You've definitely got to give it a try.

Ingredients:

4oz Vodka (I used Absolut Raspberri)
1 Bottle Ginger Beer (Non Alcoholic)
2 tbsp Lemon Juice
Fresh Raspberries
Lemon wedges
Crushed Ice

Instructions

Step 1: Combine the vodka and raspberries in a cocktail shaker and shake to give it more of the raspberry flavor.

Step 2: Add crushed ice to your copper mugs

Step 3: Pour your vodka and raspberry mixture along with your lemon juice into your chilled copper mug

Step 4: Top it off with your ginger beer and stir.

Step 5: Garnish with your lemon wedges and serve.

Jord Wood Watches are all hand finished and pretreated with oils to keep them looking sharp. They are also made with scratch resistant mineral glass. What I love is that they can also be customized and personalized for the receiver.  You can also engrave the cedar watch box with a special note or poem, which will be engraved directly on the side of the box, making it even more special. So if you're still looking for a Father's Day gift or an every day watch for that special someone in your life, consider a Jord Wood Watch, and don't forget your Moscow Mule!

  26. I love your theory on watches telling a story, and not just telling the time. I remember when a watch was handed down from generation to generation. These watches could rekindle such a thing. Maybe the watch will someday belong to the next generation down. :) It's def. a good gift idea.
