Ecogear - Saving the World One Bag at a Time

Today I'm just going to jump straight into this product that I want to share with you today. If you've been with us for a while, you know that we care deeply about our environment and we've been doing our part when it comes to our planet earth. We've been recycling and encouraging others to do so as well and we don't think Earth Day should only be a few days but all year round. ecogear is a company that thinks the same way we do! We just love how they so eloquently put it in their motto "Saving The World One Bag at a Time". Jimmy, the founder, a parent just like most of you and me, thought about his kids and how he could help have a better world for them to enjoy, when coming up with this new line of ecogear bags, bags that can save our world.

So you're probably wondering, 'how can a bag help save our world?'. Well did you know that most of our bags are currently made with PVC, which can have long term ill effects on our health. I'm going to be honest and say that I had no idea how bad PVC was. I have quite a few items, where PVC is included in the makeup, and I wasn't happy at all to know that. To learn about all the effects that PVC may have on your health and wellbeing, visit pvcinformation.org.

So what's different about ecogear? Well their bags are made with planet-friendly organic cotton, PVC-free materials, and recycled plastics. And what is their alternative to PVC? Well they use REPREVE. What is REPREVE? It's a brand of recycled fiber that is made from recycled materials, including used plastic bottles. REPREVE is PVC free, chlorine free and think of it as giving a reprieve to our lovely planet.

Here are some stats that you may not be aware of:

630 MILLION PLASTIC BOTTLES RECLAIMED BY REPRIEVE HELPED SAVE...

  • 3.8 Million gallons of gasoline
  • 1yr of drinking water for 52,313 people
  • 2,934 acres of pine forest

Madison was sent the Ecozoo Deluxe Owl while Mikael received the Dhole Backpack. Both bags are made with REPREVE polyester made from recycled water bottles and are water resistant. If you have kids, you know that having a water resistant bag is a plus. There are no toxic dyes for me to worry about and both are roomy enough to hold all their supplies. Both come with dual side mesh pockets and padded shoulder straps for comfort.

Madison has gotten so many compliments on her new ecogear bag and lots of questions as to where we got it. Now this is one product that I feel really great telling other parents about. I feel good knowing that I'm making a difference in our environment using an ecogear bag and I know that you want to make a difference as well, not just for you, but for your children as well. ecogear is just one small step in that direction, but as we all know, small steps can make a big difference in the long run.

ecogear has a variety of bags to fit every need and they all come with a lifetime warranty. So if you're in the market for a new bag, or if you care about our earth and global warming like most of us do, make your next bag an ecogear bag.

Here are the ways to connect with ecogear:

  6. These bags are not only saving the planet, but they look great too. So many times the backpack is more for the show than the actually utility of it. I like that the kids would actually pick these without me having to steer them to it.
