Balance Your Plate With Stouffers - #BalanceYourPlate

I have a very busy life and it only gets busier throughout the day. With kids always on the go, I barely sometimes have time to feed myself during the day, but I do know that my family needs to be fed at night. It doesn't matter whether I have the energy or not, they expect dinner to be on the table, and being mom, I know that it's what I need to do. However, having a delicious and nutritious meal doesn't mean that I have to slave behind a hot stove all day long. It's a lot easier than you think. I can have a nutritious, delicious and balanced meal with Stouffer's frozen dinner entrée’s. My family is especially fond of the Stouffer's Lasagna with Meat and Sauce. Even though we aren't Italian, we just love a good Italian meal and I have to admit that my lasagna doesn't taste quite as good.

I actually feel quite good feeding my family frozen entrée’s when I'm not in the mood to cook, and I never ever feel guilty about feeding them Stouffer's frozen entrée’s. Made with freshly made pasta between a rich meat sauce and topped with real mozzarella cheese, it almost taste like homemade. If I didn't tell them that I didn't make it, they wouldn't even know.

Now we all know that the holidays is fast approaching. We just celebrated Halloween which was filled with sweets and treats. With Thanksgiving fast approaching, we are all super busy trying to get everything in order, especially if you're hosting. However, that doesn't mean that you can't make sure your family has the nutrition that they need at the dinner table. As part of a Nestlé educational campaign called Balance Your Plate, Stouffer’s is helping families create delicious and nutritious meals that incorporate both frozen and fresh foods.

Making sure that my family eat a balanced meal is very important to me, so I usually pair my Stouffers Lasagna with Meat and Sauce with a fresh salad and my own authentic garlic bread. You can get my recipe for my garlic bread here. Stouffer’s lasagna comes in a family size, and is made the way you would imagine- just pop it into the oven, pair it with one of these simple sides to balance your plate, and serve!

We all want to eat healthy but a lot of us don't because we think it's too expensive, but it doesn't have to be. Balance your plate is an educational program designed to help you put together delicious and nutritious meals that incorporate both frozen and fresh foods.

There's this common misconception that frozen food isn't as good as freshly prepared food, but that couldn't be further from the truth when it comes to Stouffer's and their frozen entrée’s. Stouffer’s has recently announced its new “Kitchen Cupboard” commitment. This new initiative focuses on shortening and simplifying recipes that only include ingredients that consumers can recognize and can find at home, like vine-ripened tomatoes, freshly made pasta, and real mozzarella.

Balance Your Plate is focused on simple solutions – offering a range of recipes and tips that allow you chose the “perfect pairing” at meal time. So if you think you're running low on time and you can't prepare a balanced meal for your family, think again. Check out Balance Your Plate and get your family a balanced, nutritious and delicious meal at mealtime!

Have you tried any of Stouffer's entrée's?

  17. I'm a fan. Even as a kid I'd eat Stouffer's mac and cheese, and then pair it with something fresh and/or raw - like an apple, broccoli, etc. This uses that idea but does it in a much better fashion! I was just a kid then. I'd totally benefit from this for feeding my kids.
