American Girl Welcomes WellieWishers - A New Lifestyle Brand!

As you know we are BIG fans of American Girl with Madison getting her very first doll, the Bitty Baby, for her very first Christmas, even before she was a year old. Since then it's been a yearly tradition of ours to welcome a new addition to our American Girl collection. So you could imagine our excitement when we found out that American Girl is announcing the debut of WellieWishers, an all-new content & doll lifestyle brand for girls ages 5 to 7. The lively group of WellieWishers friends--Willa, Kendall, Ashlyn, Emerson, and Camille - imagine and play in an enchanted neighborhood garden supervised by Aunt Miranda. Through their heartwarming and humorous adventures, the WellieWishers help a girl to learn how to "stand in another person's wellies" to discover the skills of empathy, kindness, and compassion that will help her be a good friend.

These new WellieWishers include a line of adorable 14 1/2-inch dolls which retails at $60. There will also be  garden-themed accessories that help bring the characters and their stories to life for young girls.  Starting today on American Girl channels, the line will include their first-ever animated series based on the WellieWishers characters, plus digital play experiences and early chapter books which will be available September 2016.

Here's an introduction to these delightful WellieWishers girls:

Willa
Willa has a love for animals. She's sure to be the first one up a tree—and the last to turn away a furry friend. The 14.5" Willa doll has hazel eyes and silky strawberry-blond hair in long pigtails. Her outfit includes:
A hedgehog tee with a sweet printed face and dimensional ears
A green hedgehog-print skirt trimmed in satin ribbon
A cute headband with fabric bunny ears
Light-pink underwear
Red wellie boots with sweet ladybug faces.

Kendall
Kendall is creative—she's always drawing and inventing. Leave it to her to patch friendly mix-ups with smiles, patience, and a handmade card. The 14.5" Kendall doll has deep-brown eyes and curly black hair in pigtails. Her outfit includes:
An orange-and-white striped tee with a bold pink floral print bow
A light-blue skirt with white polka dots, a floral border, and blue tulle peeking out at the hem
A pink floral-print bow headband to show off her curls
Light-pink underwear
Bright-pink floral wellie boots.

Camille
Camille adores the ocean—and she's mellow as a mermaid. She's the one her friends turn to when they need someone to listen. The 14.5" Camille doll has blue eyes, a freckle on one cheek, and silky blond hair. Her outfit includes:
A deep-blue tee with glittery mesh
A tie-dye print skirt with a handkerchief hem
A glittery mesh layer on top, and a bow at the waistband
A coral starfish clip for her hair
Light-pink underwear
Blue wellie boots with red fins and smiley fish faces
Ashlyn
Ashlyn is a princess-in-training (and party-planner extraordinaire). She's just the one to turn a friend's frown upside-down. The 14.5" Ashlyn doll has brown eyes, freckled cheeks, and long silky brown hair. Her outfit includes:
A fancy pink top with lace print, a Peter Pan collar, and golden satin ribbon
A tiered pink skirt with golden ribbon trim
A pretty pink tiara
Light-pink underwear
Pink wellie boots made to look like glittery golden Mary Janes.

Emerson
Emerson loves the spotlight—and the spotlight loves her right back. She loves to make her friends smile with funny jokes, original dance routines, and show-stopping songs. The 14.5" Emerson doll has dark-brown eyes and black hair in curly pigtails. He outfit includes:
A striped dancer's top
A shimmery bright-pink tulle skirt printed with silvery dots and purple stars
Two bright-pink hair ties with tulle ribbons
Light-pink underwear
Pink wellie boots made to look like a ballerina's toe shoes

  1. We are an all boy house, so the American Girl thing is completely foreign to me. They look cute for girls, though :)

Scarlet was just sitting with an American Girl catalog and circling what she wanted. The problem? It was the Christmas catalog. I was like, "No, you need to look at a current one and see what they're up to now!"
