Warm Vanilla Body Butter

I can’t believe that Mothers’ Day is almost here. Actually, Mothers’ Day is only a few days away and while it’s always a great idea to get mom a gift, why not get her something homemade and one that she’ll love. Nothing says “I love you mom” like something you made with your own hands. Our Warm Vanilla Body Butter will not only soothe her hands and body but also smells divine. Why buy when you can make it and you know exactly what’s in there. Personally, I love receiving handmade gifts and homemade cards. It shows my kid’s creativity and tells me that they cared enough to make me something instead of going into the store and picking up the first thing they see. Don’t get me wrong, I also love receiving gifts that they buy but it means a lot more when it’s something that they made especially for me. So this Mothers’ Day why not give them a gift of love, and give them this Warm Vanilla Body Butter made with your own hands.

Here is what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

½ C. Shea butter

½ C. Coconut oil

2 tbs. vanilla extract

1 tsp. almond extract (optional)

Directions:

#1. Add the Coconut oil and the Shea butter to a small saucepan. Heat on low until melted, mixing well. Remove the saucepan from the heat and let set until cooled to room temperature.

#2. Scoop the mixture into a bowl and set in the fridge for 15-20 minutes.

#3. Remove from the fridge and add the vanilla extract and almond extract. Use a hand mixer to beat the ingredients until whipped (2-3 minutes).

#4. Scoop the body butter into an airtight container, such as a mason jar and seal. Keep the body butter at room temperature for about 6 months. If you see any separation simply stir well.

Wasn’t as hard as you thought it would have been right? Yes it is super easy to make and you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of making it before. Just grab the ingredients and make a batch for you and mom today.

So tell me: Do you prefer to get store bought or homemade gifts?
