Creamy Tropical Smoothie‏ #Recipe

We haven't finished with Spring as yet but Summer is almost here. Well it seems that way to us. We've been getting really great weather although we do have our Spring showers. Summer is when it officially becomes smoothie weather, but why wait until summer. Why not get your smoothie fix now? Last year we shared quite a few summer smoothies and this year we'll be doing the same. Smoothies are not only delicious and a great way to get your fruit fix but for those who generally skip breakfast, like I do, getting a glass filled with fruits and veggies is a great way to start your day. Today's recipe is all about the tropics and you can find the ingredients at your local supermarket. I guarantee that you'll love our Creamy Tropical Smoothie.

Makes two 14-ounce smoothies.

Here is what you'll need:

1 cup fresh pineapple
1 cup fresh orange
1 mango, peeled
1 banana
1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
1 cup coconut milk vanilla creamer
Sweetener of your choice, if desired

1. Add all the ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and frothy.

2. Taste and add sweetener, if desired.

3. Serve immediately or store, covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake well before serving.

If you like a thicker/colder smoothie, you can add some ice when you blend it. And if you like it thinner, just add more liquid.

I use creamer to make it creamier but still keep it light. Any creamer or half & half will work too.

  1. That looks delicious and refreshing. I bet it tastes good. I've never tried using coconut milk in smoothies.

  2. Oh my goodness, this sounds and looks so amazing. Tropical goodness!

    Thanks for sharing!

  3. Is that coconut milk creamer for coffee, too? I was just looking for something like that to further limit my dairy and I'd love to make this smoothie and use it for coffee as well. This has dreaming of a beach!

  4. Smoothies can be so healthy and yummy too. We like to do yogurt and maybe a handful of greens.

  5. Im glad we have all those fruits and ingredients here in Manila. Fresh fruits and coconut juice and cream. I will try to make this for my kid

  6. yum .. looks refreshing .. this is what i need to beat the summer heat. gonna make one .. or two .. ops that's a joke .. a pitcher ... hihihi

  7. Waaaah! This makes me crave for this! I wish a restaurant would serve something like this. It's gonna be ur fault that I will buy me a blender! haha didn't know yogurt could be a good part of something like this. :-)

  8. This will be a very great refresher for us since it's very hot here in the Philippines. I wonder what could be the alternative for the yogurt since I'm not a fan of it.

  9. I don't like to eat banana on it's own. but a banana, orange and peach smoothie looks perfectly yummy and healthy! What's more, there's healthy yogurt! Thanks for sharing this recipe!

  10. If only I am not too lazy to bring out my blender. It needs to be assembled first. I would love a smoothie right now.

  11. Tropical fruits are the best for making smoothies during summer. There are lots of ways to make smoothies according to one's taste. Fruit smoothie is the best like avocado, grated young coconut, etc.

  12. i want one!!!! It looks so deliciously refreshing where I'm standing.

I've read recently of an article that advises against combining many different fruits and juicing them. Article says it strips the fruits and veggies of the fibers and all that stuff that the body needs. But I don't really care, haha. This looks extremely good to try.

  13. Summer is never complete without a good dose of smoothie. Those are my favorite too, especially mangoes, strawberries, and banana.

  14. That's yummilicous and all goodness in a cup! i love to freeze my bananas - especially just before they turn all black, and toss them into my smoothies. It makes the drink even creamier. Try it too :)

  15. This really does sound good--of course being allergic to bananas I'd have to substitute it for avocado.

  16. What a great recipe just in time for summer! My children would love this one too. I need to dust off my blender :)

  17. This sounds amazing! My kids would love this and it would be perfect by the pool this summer. I am pinning for future reference.

  18. Pineapple and orange always make a good combination; banana ought to give this smoothie a nice twist to make it the perfect thirst-quencher for summer. I will do this soon.

  19. It's perfect to go for smoothies now with the warm weather. This one is also loaded with nutrients coming from the different fruits.

  20. smoothies are a great way to hydrate yourself in the summers though I am not a big smoothies fan.

  21. Awweee that is so delicious and great for breakfast or energy drink.

  22. Gosh! for a hot day , I really need this one. Thanks for sharing the recipe. Will do it this weekend.

  23. I bet this tastes amazing!! Would love to try this smoothie during my vacation! :D

  24. Can I hv a cup of those? The smoothies looks so delicious!

  25. PLease send some here for me .. they look so yummy and absolute must for this hot weather. I am going to give a try to it.

  26. This would be a perfect summer treat!

  27. Mmm this not only looks amazing, but sounds delicious! The Spring and Summer are a great time to start having smoothies like this. I think we shall try one this weekend. :-)

  28. This look very delicious Can't to try this.
