Madison Caribbean Adventures – St. Lucia Pt 2 {Almost Wordless Wednesday}

Last week, I shared with you a glimpse of the beautiful Island of St. Lucia in my Caribbean Adventures. To see more of those pictures you can take a look at my St. Lucia Caribbean Adventures part 1. Today I want to share the rest of the photos.  even get to share a rare glimpse of mommy in St. Lucia.

We spent an entire day there as you may recall and I got to take some amazing shots of the island. I even got a souvenir or two that I want to share with you as well. If you’ve never been to any of the islands before you may want to add them to your bucket list because I guarantee that you’ll love them. We originally left the US for the beautiful island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines this past Christmas and got to visit St. Lucia on our way back to the US. We do have more to show you of St. Vincent and will do that hopefully next week. So without further ado, here are the rest of those photos that I promised you for our Almost Wordless Wednesday.

While we did get out of the car and was able to walk around some of the places that we saw, a lot of our shots were actually taken while moving. Our tour guide would slow down so that mommy could take pictures and that she did do. One of those moving shots was of this beautiful church that came with a little history.

One of the things that I love about the Caribbean is the explosion of color everywhere. It’s not just the green of the vegetation that you see. Their houses make up with splashes of color and they even paint their roofs. How beautiful!

Now you’re probably wondering, so where is this elusive shot of Madison’s mommy? Well have no fear I did promise that I would show it to you and here you go. Now you may need to bookmark this page because I have no idea when you’ll see her again. Mommy just had to have a shot with that beautiful background filled with boats. It’s one of the photos that you can see in our very first post.

Now enough about mommy, what about me? Remember I mentioned that I got a few souvenirs while I was there? Well one of those happened to be this beautiful doll. While we were driving there were vendors along the roadside that would ask the tourists if they were interested in buying souvenirs. One of the things that they had and that I wanted was this doll. Now this doll is different than most dolls that you have seen. It is a double sided doll. What do I mean by that? Well this doll has two heads and signifies the bachelorette lifestyle and the married lifestyle. It is also displayed in the St. Lucian National Colors.

Here in the first photo is the married woman. Notice how conservative she’s dressed. Her head is tied up and she is dressed in a pretty floral dress. Mommy was a little concerned because the married woman doesn’t look too happy.

Now take a look at the bachelorette. She’s smiling and she’s dressed in the national colors. She also has her head tied but we can see her hair and she has earrings in. Now I’m not sure what they were trying to say but maybe it means that bachelorettes have a lot more fun. Maybe I should stay single for as long as I can?

While mommy was thinking deeply about the significance of my doll I didn’t care. I just wanted to have fun with her. Maybe adults think a little too much and need to be like us little ones. No care in the world and taking things at face value. No wonder we smile more and have more fun. I’m so not looking forward to growing up.

Now here’s another of my souvenirs that I was able to get mommy to purchase for me. It’s a beautiful dress that actually says St. Lucia on it. Normally I would get the tees but this time I was able to get a dress and I’m loving it. I can’t wait to go back to the islands and trust me there are more to explore in the Caribbean. Mommy thinks a longer trip in Barbados is due and so is one to Trinidad and Tobago. I’ll be sure to take pics and it’ll be another of my Caribbean Adventures. I can’t wait!

So tell me, what do you think of my doll in particular and what are you plans for the summer? Any trips coming up?
