New Years Treat: Cool Mint Body Scrub

Happy New Year!

With the New Year here I want to share this relaxing treat with you. It is super easy to make and you'll wonder why you've never made it yourself before. I like giving little gifts for the New Year and homemade gifts are always appreciated. It says that you took the time out to actually make something special. It's not store bought. While store bought gifts are nice, receiving something that was made personally for you is even nicer. Today I bring to you our Homemade Cool Mint Body Scrub complete with a printable that you can use to make a label. I think you are going to love it as much as we do. Scrub your worries away with our Cool Mint Body Scrub.

Here is what you'll need:

Ingredients:

½ C. coconut oil

1 ½ C. sugar (add more sugar if you want to make the scrub more grainy)

3 tsp. peppermint extract

2-3 drops of green food coloring

Mason jars

(All these ingredients can be gotten at your supermarket while you can pick up mason jars at your local dollar store.)

Directions:

1. Mix all the ingredients in a medium size bowl (see photos below).

2.  Scoop into smaller mason jars that would be easy to use in the bath or shower.

3. Seal the jar and print the gift tag and attach with some ribbon of twine.

I didn't forget this important part. I actually have a PDF printable that you can use. You can download your labels for your body scrub. Now you're ready for gifting.

Now you can save some money by making your very own body scrub. You didn't know it was this easy to make did you? While I'm also guilty of also buying body scrubs, usually because I'm in the store and I can't resist, this really is a nice frugal way to enjoy your shower or bath the way you like it. You know the ingredients that are in there and I will guarantee that your gift receiver will love it as much as you do.

Happy New Year!

  3. This is awesome. I have some peppermint essential oil, which is different than extract I think. I'd love to use it because it's great for stress relief and headaches!
