Holiday Tradition with Mezzetta Bruschetta Style Pasta Sauce #MezzettaMemories

Thanks to Mezzetta for sponsoring today's post.

We love the holidays. There is nothing quite like them. Like most families, our holidays mean gathering around the table with good food and good friends. Seeing that our family is spread across continents it can sometimes be difficult for us to get together. That's why we love having family meals together. It's a holiday tradition and Mezzetta helps to bring us together. One of our favorite things to cook together as a family is pasta with homemade sauce.  The kids and grown-ups all love pasta with homemade Bruschetta sauce made with Mezzetta Olives and Roasted Bell Peppers that are delicious and healthy.  Mezzetta makes a variety of products including olives, peppers, pasta sauces and more.  Whether you are looking for a quick healthy snack or gourmet ingredients for your favorite dishes—reach for a jar of Mezzetta specialty foods at your local grocery store and see the difference a little Mezzetta can make. Inspiration is just a twist away.

Bruschetta Style Pasta Sauce

Ingredients:

Mezzetta Pitted Kalamata Olives – approximately ½ cup

Mezzetta Roasted Bell Peppers – approximately ½ cup

1 large can of petite diced tomatoes

½ large onion

3-4 cloves fresh garlic

2 tbsp olive oil

1 tbsp garlic infused vinegar or balsamic vinegar

½ tsp soy sauce

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

Dry or fresh oregano and basil

1 block feta  cheese

1 package penne pasta

Direction:

Warm the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Peel and dice the onion.

Peel and mince the fresh garlic.

Add the onion and garlic to the olive oil and sauté until soft.

Finely chop the Mezzetta Kalamata Olives and slice the Mezzetta Roasted Bell Peppers into 1/4” strips.

Add both to the onion and garlic.

Add the diced tomatoes to the mixture and reduce the heat to low.

Add the vinegar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper and continue cooking over low heat until ready to serve.

Cook pasta according to package instructions.

Serve the bruschetta sauce over the warm pasta.  Crumble the feta cheese over the pasta and sauce.

Sprinkle with basil and oregano and serve.

I love family meals, especially during the holidays when the whole family gets together and we eat and laugh.
