Do you know what day it is? It’s my Toddler Book Talk Tuesday and today I have a special surprise for you. Yes today we get to have a giveaway. Who doesn’t like a good giveaway? Especially when it’s book related. Doesn’t get any better than that I say. Well today I get to introduce you to a great company called BabyLit. Just like the name suggests, they take classic literature and turn them into baby literature. BabyLit is a fashionable way to introduce your toddler to the world of classic literature.

I was sent three classics. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Frankenstein and Anna Karenina. These books are all wonderfully written and the illustrations are beautiful! Now while they may seem like your average literature, they are literature with a twist. First lets delve into The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Now you may all remember the story of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. You may remember the good witch Glinda and don’t forget the Wicked Witch of the West. Well while Baby Lit does tell the story (sort of) this is all about colors. It teaches your little ones about colors in such a delightful way. Just look at the Cowardly Lion decked out in orange while the Winged Monkey (remember those?) teaches the color purple. Your little ones are going to love turning the pages and not only looking at the photos but also learning their colors along the way. While the adults tell the story of the Wonderful Wizard of Oz their own way.

Now Frankenstein doesn’t look or sound as creepy as it did in the original book. There is absolutely nothing to be afraid of with this one. As a matter of fact this might turn out to be one of your toddler’s favorite. Why? Well this one teaches all about body parts. Now if you’re looking for a way to teach your little one’s about their heads, shoulder, knees and toes (I just had to sing that song) then this is the book for you. What better way to teach than with the classical Frankenstein. It turns out that Frankenstein was just like me. He even loves swinging on the swings. Who would have thought that?

Next  is Anna Karenina. If your little one is into fashion then this is totally the book for her. This is a great way for your little one to add a few more vocabulary words to their repertoire. For example I now know that parasol is a fancy word for umbrella. On each page your little one gets to identify a piece of Anna’s clothing and then you’re asked to find another item. You do get a taste of fashion back in the days of Tolstoy when he wrote Anna Karenina. There are also a few quotes to make the story come alive even more.

BabyLit books are beautifully designed and will keep your little ones enthralled with simple text that makes it easy for them to “read” . They are a must have for your little one’s library and I recommend them highly. I plan on getting a few others including Romeo and Julie. How can you not have Romeo and Juliet in your classic literature collection?

Check out BabyLit for more literature classics and introduce them to your little one today. They totally get my TWO TINY THUMBS UP!

Here are the ways you can connect with Baby Lit:
