Guess How Much I Love You (20th Anniversary Edition)

You know what today is right? It's the day when I bring you some really great books. Well books that I have been reading and think that they're super awesome! Yes, it's my Toddler Book Talk Tuesday and I've been having a lot of fun not only reading, but sharing, these books with you. Today I have a treat for you. It's a book that I insist should be in every child's library. No matter how old you are! I actually have the board book so when I was offered the 20th Anniversary Edition I said "YES!". Now by my post title you've already figured out what I'm talking about, it's Guess How Much I Love You 20th Anniversary Edition, written by Sam McBratney and illustrated by Anita Jeram. This book tells the classic tale of Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare, his father. For those who have NEVER read the book I'll go into a short synopsis. It was bedtime for Little Nutbrown Hare, but just like any little child who's not ready for bed, he decides that he wants to play a game of Guess How Much I Love You with his dad.

Now no matter how much love Little Nutbrown Hare has for his father, his father ups the ante, right to the very end. He says:

"I love you right up to the moon" he said, and closed his eyes.
"Oh, that's far," said Big Nutbrown Hare. "That is very, very far."
Big Nutbrown Hare settled Little Nutbrown Hare into his bed of leaves.
He leaned over and kissed him good night.
Then he lay down close by and whispered with a smile, "I love you right up to the moon - and back."

This story will delight everyone because sometimes when you love someone very much, you just want to find a way of describing just how much you love them. You may also find out that love isn't that easy to measure. This book also shows just how much love a parent has for their child. That's a LOT of love to go to the moon and back.

You get to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this cherish classic with this special edition featuring an additional note from the author and artist. I can't believe it's been 20 years, wow! When I have my own children I'll be reading this to them as well. This is one of the world's best-loved picture books and will continue to be for generations to come.

Guess How Much I Love You 20th Anniversary Edition makes a great gift for newborns, toddlers even your older children. Think baby showers, christening, birthdays, you name it, this is the gift you want to give. It's perfect for bedtime and any other time. After all there's no greater gift than love, and I love you my readers to the moon and back! This books gets my TWO TINY THUMBS UP!
