Meet the Multi-Culturally Diverse Global Girl - Giveaway

Disclaimer: I received products for review purposes. No other compensation was received. Though the product was free, opinions are 100% my very own.

By now you may have heard of my obsession with dolls. I just can't get enough of them. I have also listed my reasoning of why it's also great to play with dolls. Today though I want to share a set of stylish dolls that I know you are definitely going to want to have in your collection, for those who collect, or to play with for those who actually play with their dolls like I do. Introducing Global Girl! Have you ever thought of what it is like being a young girl in another country? What do they do in their land? Do they play the same way we do? Do they eat the same thing we eat? What is it like living in their land? Well that's the mission behind Global Girl. To open the minds of young girls and spark their curiosity about other girls in other countries. After noticing that there were no other doll brand that focused on different countries and their cultures they decided to do something about it.

The Global Girl collection consists of six 21 inch dolls that are all multi-culturally diverse. They include from left to right above:-

Each doll also has a companion book that takes your little one on a journey with each doll character in her respective country. Dolls and books are each sold separately!

I decided when offered the chance to review a doll that I wanted Amahle from South Africa. Not only does she look more like me, but there aren't too many African dolls on the market for us children of color. While I don't really consider myself African-American but more Caribbean-American, I wanted to still learn a bit about the girls in Africa.

Amahle came complete with her book that mommy was able to read to me. I got to meet Amahle from Johannesburg, South Africa. I got to follow Amahle’s global adventure as she falls in love with the wildlife of Africa and learns about her true passion and talent.

This isn't your average run of the mill book. This is an actual chapter book that shares Amahles adventures and also has fun facts all about South Africa. It was great learning about how different Amahle life is compared to mine. I don't think I'l be able to meet a rescued baby elephant from the wild but Amahle sure does.

Now on to Amahle herself. Amahle as I mentioned is from South Africa and has brown eyes and really soft dark brown curly shoulder length hair. Amahle also comes with pierced ears and beautiful blue rhinestone heart earrings. These earring are totally removable as well for those who would prefer her not to have pierced ears. She has actual eye lashes but unfortunately her eyes doesn't close so she sleeps with her eyes open.

She is dressed in a stylish leopard-print satin coat, black top with a peplum and bell cuffs on the sleeves, black pants with leopard and satin trim and black shoes. Her clothing is totally removable. Her coat and top is secured with velcro making it easy for little ones to take on and off, while her pants has an elasticized waistband.

All dolls come with a Global Girl underwear set that has the Global Girl logo brand. So after a fun day out with your doll you can both come home and take your clothes off and get ready for bed.

She has a very soft body and is jointed from chest level to thigh. She is also fully posable so I was able to sit her up and stand her up. She can stand on her own and you'll be able to pose her in any position that you can think of to make playtime even more fun.

What I love and what stands about the Global Girl line of dolls is not just their stylish clothing but the fact that they focus on the culture of each individual doll or girl. Sharing the differences of each culture and that although their culture may be different, we are essentially the same.

Your little one will not only enjoy playing with their brand new doll that may or may not look like them, but they will also enjoy reading the stories that go along with each doll. It's amazing what something as simple as a doll can teach your little one. That while we may be different we are all still children with the same needs and wants. And I got to learn a bit more about another culture as well. Amahle and the entire Global Girl line gets my TWO TINY THUMBS UP!

As of now Global Girl dolls are sold exclusively on the website but great news! They do accept international orders. Anything outside the 50 United States please send an email to customercare@globalgirl.com and include what you would like to order, quantities and your shipping information and they will get back to you with pricing for shipping and any applicable taxes or duties and will assist you in processing your order.

Here are the ways you can connect with Global Girl:
