When one thinks of New York City, the hometown of my mommy, daddy, sister and brothers, one thinks of hip and fresh, the city that never sleeps. One thinks of the mecca capital of the world where fashion rules. One also thinks of Graffiti. After all what is New York City without a bit of Graffiti? Definitely not New York. When one thinks of hip and funky and New York City, the next thing that you should be thinking of is Yak Pak. Founded in 1989 by two college students, Yak Pak stands for what New York is all about. Uniqueness and individuality. With bold colors and expressive prints Yak Pak’s motto “Lead the Pak” sure does ring true.

My brother was able to choose the backpack of his choice and being the typical New Yorker that he is he decided to go with the Graffiti. As I mentioned, nothing screams New York like a bit graffiti. It can be seen on buildings, subway cars, you name it, if it can be written on it can be drawn on.

The print is definitely something that you have to look at twice. The fun blue and orange mix complete with the peace sign symbol and the words Yak Pak written all over it screams, “hey look at me”. While you may not see it fully but the year of their introduction is also written throughout the backpack.

While this may look like your typical backpack there is nothing typical about it. While it is made from 100% polyester it is totally water and tear resistant. Backpack measures 15 x 11.75 x 3 inches. The main compartment is big enough to hold your laptop or your school books and is padded so it feels totally comfortable against your back.

The back panel is padded and the reinforced padded shoulder straps are adjustable making it extremely comfortable for use. There is an easy access front pocket that is suitable to store pens and pencils and the zippers run smoothly. Don’t you hate a backpack where you have to fight with the zippers? No problems here with a Yak Pak.

Now Yak doesn’t just make backpacks. They actually make it all including messenger bags, crossbody bags, handbags, clutches, totes, luggage, diaper bags, yoga bags, wallets, laptop sleeves, cell phone cases… ok, I think you get the idea… You can find them at numerous great retailers across the United States, Canada and beyond in stores ranging from independent specialty stores and department stores to college bookstores, sporting goods retailers and many others.

So whether you wear it slung over both shoulders or one, look hip ready for school with a Yak Pak backpack. This definitely gets my big brother’s BIG THUMBS UP! LEAD THE PAK!
