Colorado State Fair – #OurSummerJourney

Disclaimer: I received products  for review purposes. No other compensation was received. Though the product was free, opinions are 100% my very own.

The summer is winding down and this year I was able to do quite a lot. I’ve visited 2 zoos, went to a museum, went to a carnival, to a renaissance fair and just recently our state fair. I have to say that the fair was amazing and while I had fun I knew I was safe going to and from the fair thanks to Safety 1st and my amazing new car seat I received. Not only was my seat comfy and I was riding in style but I knew that I was sitting in an amazing car seat that would protect me in the event of a crash. September is Car Seat Safety Month but I’m going to be just a tad early. I was selected to be a Safety 1st Summer Ambassador and I was ecstatic because I get to share my adventure with you.

I was sent the Safety 1st Advance SE 65 Air + Convertible Car Seat and all I have to say is WOW! Being a toddler I still have to ride in a car seat and I was recently turned forward facing. I was rear facing for quite some time and while it’s great, I wasn’t really missing out on anything, but I’m pretty tall and my legs were starting to look and feel uncomfortable, so when I received my new car seat from Safety 1st, mommy decided that it was time to put me forward facing. Thank you Safety 1st and mommy!

Before I go into my review of my car seat I want to share some of my photos from the Colorado State Fair with you. There was so much to see and do while I was there and mommy just loves taking photos of me. I promise I’m only sharing a few and will show more in another post. The fair was absolutely amazing and I got to ride a horse for the very first time. I also saw a lot of animals and got to pet them as well.  There were lots and lots of rides and while I wasn’t able to get on them all because of my height I was able to ride quite a few. I totally enjoyed my time at the Fair and can’t wait to go back next year.

By the way, daddy’s hugs are the best! Next to the Safety 1st Advance SE 65 Air+ Convertible Car Seat that is, they both keep me safe!

Now on to my review.

The Safety 1st Advance SE 65 Air + Convertible Car Seat is designed for babies and toddler 5 – 65 pounds. You can use it rear facing 5 – 40 pounds or forward facing 22 – 65 pounds. Daddy said that this was actually one of the easiest car seats he has ever installed and he’s done a few. What makes it easy is the identifiable color-coded seat belt paths and installation labels. Because we have a newer vehicle we installed it using the latch system.

One of the feature that we really loved was the advanced cushion system that protects your little one’s head. The headrest also has 10 positions so it totally grows with your little one. The GCell HX™ patented foam with hexagonal shapes inside the seat provides superior body protection and TOGETHER they provide full body and side impact protection. Exactly what is needed when you’re in an accident. Hopefully we don’t ever have to test it out ourselves.

That brings us to another feature that we loved as well. The steel-reinforced metal frame that provides extra stability. We also loved the no re-thread harness. Those can be a pain to do and nobody has time for that. Safety 1st made it so super easy. And here’s a little bit of luxury for me. It even included a cup holder. Now I can store my drink while we drive.

The Safety 1st Advance SE 65 Air+ Convertible Car Seat meets or exceeds Federal and ASTM Safety Standards.

So here are the pros:

  • Easy to Install
  • Provides full body protection in the even of an accident
  • Headrest grows with your child
  • Re-inforced steel metal frame
  • No re-thread harness
  • 4 position recline
  • Includes a cup holder

Cons:

  • As with most convertible car seat this is big and takes up quite a lot of room. If you have a small car you may want to think of something just a tad smaller.
