Get Relief From Bugs With Purple Prairie Bug Spray

Disclaimer: I received products  for review purposes. No other compensation was received. Though the product was free, opinions are 100% my very own.

It's summer and believe it or not its also mosquito season. Our trip to Florida this year has been postponed all because of it as well. Yes mommy heard about the new mosquito borne disease situation currently in Florida and decided that we weren't taking any chances. I'm sure I would have been safe thanks to Purple Prairie Botanicals. Mommy and I were sent the Purple Prairie Botanicals Bug Spray and so far it has been working well for me.

The summer time is when I don't get overdressed. The time when I get to wear shorts, skirts and dresses. The denim jeans gets put away and I dress loosely to enjoy the lovely summer sun. It's not just me who is happy that the summer is here. The bugs are too. I have seen so many moths and other bugs in just this month alone that I wonder where they've been all winter. Well apparently they've been hiding just waiting for my legs to show and I have the bug bite to prove it. You know the ones that just itch and itch and you just have to scratch and scratch. They leave those ugly marks on your skin too.

See that's what happens when you don't have your Purple Prairie Botanicals Bug Spray around. Now my regular readers know that I have very sensitive skin so mommy and I are very wary about what I use on my skin. There is no need to worry with this. This is 99% natural and safe for all ages and your pets too.

Just take a look at the ingredients:

96% Natural Ingredients: aqua (water), hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel), polysorbate 20, eucalyptus citriadora (lemon eucalyptus), azadirachta indica (neem) seed oil, nepeta cataria (catnip) oil, cymbopogon schoenanthus (lemongrass) oil, eucalyptus globulus (eucalyptus) leaf oil, melaleuca alternifolia (tea tree) oil, lavandula angustifolia (lavender) oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) oil, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil and salix nigra (black willow) extract.

It contains a special blend of essential oils and plant extracts in a non-oily witch hazel and water base. This is really an all natural way to keep those pesky flying and biting bugs away. It is great for mosquitos, gnats and all other flying biting insects. It is also Deet Free and tested and proven effective from the BWCA biting flies to the Yucatan sand fleas. You can also try it on itchy bites, poison ivy, chicken pox and other itchies too.

The directions were pretty easy to follow. You just spray it on your exposed skin avoiding your eyes and your good to go. You also need to store it in a cool, dark place. It does have a slightly strong Eucalyptus smell which isn't overpowering when you first apply it but then it goes away. It actually smells pretty good if you ask me! It does not leave your skin sticky as I would have thought so that's a bonus. It also dissipates easily into the skin and I'm not worried about it since there are no harsh, toxic chemicals to harm me.

I followed the directions and went outside and when I came back in there were no new bites to be found so I guess it worked. Voila, no more bug bites for me! I am happy that I found Purple Praire Botanicals Bug Spray. Now I feel better going outdoors. After all it's summer, don't the the bugs ruin your summer!

You can purchase your very own bottle online at their website. A 4.2oz bottle is only $7.99 and it's so worth it for your protection.

  2. We use California Baby for the girls, but this does sound pretty good and am going to have to look into it, because Lily is petrified of bugs and will get upset anytime one comes near her pretty much.

  3. What's going on in FL is nothing compared to the mosquito viruses we get here in New England - unlike those, ours are deadly :(

  8. I had no idea there was any sort of mosquito born disease going on in Florida! Just goes to show you how in the loop I am...I have heard that essential oils can be great when it comes to bug repellants so that coupled with the fact that it's natural makes it a fantastic product to look in to :)

  15. I'm sorry you had to cancel your trip! If it was any time in the near future, you probably would've been fine. The chikungunya virus isn't found in the States yet. Everyone who has it here, contracted it elsewhere...outside of the US. The media really hasn't been doing a good job of explaining it. Eventually our mosquitoes will probably spread it, but hopefully it'll be a while yet.

I'm glad there are natural mosquito repellent options available, because I'm not thrilled with DEET!
