Daddy's Little Girl Book Review

Disclosure: I received a copy of Daddy's Little Girl. No other compensation was received. Though the product was free, opinions are 100% my very own.

I am the baby in the family and I love being the baby. I also like to think of myself as the favorite. It may not be true but I love to think it. Who doesn't like being the favorite? When it comes to my parental relationships, mommy is the strict one while daddy is the one I can really have fun with. Daddy loves to play with me and you can find us sitting in the couch watching TV together. If you're at my house you can also find him outside with me watching me ride my bike. Since Daddy works at night I'm with him all throughout the day. Do I consider myself a Daddy's Little Girl? You bet I do! When mommy and I were contacted by Peter Wilson, the author of Daddy's Little Girl, asking us if we would love to have a copy of his book? Mommy without hesitation said yes. Not only because of the name of the book but because mommy never, well almost never, refuses books. Mommy just loves them and so do I.

Daddy's Little Girl is a heartwarming tale of a father's love and growing relationship with his daughter; the story follows Daddy's Little Girl from infancy to maturity. Beautifully illustrated by Canadian artist Carol Matsuyama this book makes a thoughtful gift for any occasion. This book demonstrates the love and support a parent has for their child and that family love spans a lifetime.

For each timeline of the story from the time the dad saw his daughter in the nursery until he walks her down the aisle is commemorated by these lines:

"It's alright, it's okay.
Save your tears for another day.
Things may change in this big, crazy world,
But you'll always be Daddy's little girl."

It follows the little girl's journey through her first heartbreak, her journey to college and even on her big day. When daddy read this book to me, daddy started tearing up and so did mommy. Mommy was very close to her own dad and as the only daughter was definitely a daddy's little girl. Mommy lost her own dad not too long ago so this book really touched mommy in ways she did not want to admit.

Now the love between a father and a daughter is so much different than a love between a father and a son. While daddy loves my brothers, his love for me is much different. I'm the apple of his eye, his little angel and this book portrays that love. I can't begin to tell you how great this book is. All I can tell you is that you just have to read it for yourself. Get yourself a copy!

To read what Daddy and I was reading in this beautiful book check out the official YouTube video. I guarantee that you would love it as much as we all did. Daddy's Little Girl gets my TWO TINY THUMBS UP!

You can purchase your own copy of Daddy's Little Girl on the website. And here are the ways you can connect with Daddy's Little Girl:

  1. This does sound like a great book. One that I think everyone should have in their library I would say, especially if you're really close with your own father. You always get the cool stuff to review. I'm still going gaga over your Scarface tee. :)

  3. There is nothing quite like the love a Dad has for his little girl. It is definitely a special kind of love. In 2 days my niece is having her first child-a little girl--I think I will buy this book and send it down when my Mom goes to visit her great grand daughter (oh is that little girl going to be spoiled!)

  20. What a wonderful story, just reminding us how precious and short our lives. Usually dads do not express much their feeling, at least in our family but I know and feel how much they love their daughters.
