Road Trip With Madison Part 1

I have been meaning to share a few of my photos with you that I took while on my Road Trip from Canada to Colorado, my home state. It was a lot of fun visiting family and I had so much fun that I didn't want to leave. Mommy decided to leave a day earlier than usual because there was a winter storm heading on the east coast. We had snow everyday while in Canada and while it was a lot of fun seeing it outside, it was no fun driving in it. Driving in bad weather is really no fun at all. When we opened the door that morning to take our leave, the first thing we noticed was that our car was covered. Although my uncle had already gotten up and very kindly cleaned it for us there was no denying that day was going to be bad.

Now without further ado here is a few of the pictures taken on my road trip. Enjoy! We took the highway leading to Port Huron from Ontario which would lead us directly into Michigan. This was going to be fun. I am also going to doing this in 3 parts since one highlight of my trip was actually staying at the hotel which I will also share with you.

Leaving London, Ontario on the highway started off not too bad but it only got worse as we continued further along. Taking pictures through the window while driving was my sister Krxssy's job, and while she did an ok job, I think if the camera was given to me I would have done an even better job.

While it may have also been fun to stop and visit a few of these places that the highway signs directed us to, unfortunately we couldn't. That's for another trip I think.

This was the last time seeing the Canadian flag. We were almost at the bridge leading us back to the US and I wanted a picture to commemorate my first trip to Canada.

The bridge that would ultimately lead me into Michigan and the US.

Welcome to the USA! Waiting in line to enter the USA wasn't as bad as I thought it would have been. Immigration officers were also friendly and welcomed us back home. It is good to be back but it was really fun to be away as well.

Have you ever taken a road trip? What fun things did you see while traveling?

  2. I LOVE taking road trips! I remember a few summers ago, I took a trip across Kansas to Colorado, and I stopped at every little roadside attraction I could find. I climbed a tower full geodes, taxidermy animals, and other oddities...to see 6 states from the top. I saw the biggest Yard Ball in the US, I saw the biggest Prairie Dog in the US, and a ton of other random things. It was a BLAST!

  3. Can I just say... I feel cold just looking at your pictures. :'(

I went on a gorgeous road trip once from NYC to Maine and I loved it so much. It was my first fall in the US and the leaves were changing to orange and augh, it was just amazing. I had such a great time just driving through the empty roads and experience US culture.

    1. It was a very cold day with very nasty weather. The fall sounds like a great time to go traveling. You do get to experience a lot more sights and you won't have to deal with the snow. ♥ Madison

  4. I've never taken a road trip but I would so love to. You got some great photos even if you think Krxssy didn't do a good job. It can be tough taking pictures from a moving vehicle so I think she did a great job. Looks like you really had bad weather but I'm glad you and your family made it back safe.

  8. My favorite road trip (among many) was going down to the outer banks. It was an 18 hour drive in total so we saw some pretty cool things. My favorite stops were the little local shops and restaurants.

    1. 18 hours isn't as bad as ours was. Our trip would have taken 22 hours but it took a lot longer since we had to make a lot of stops. Stopping to see the local shops would have ben nice. Maybe next time. ♥ Madison

  9. I have family in Bethesda, MD, so we took road trips down there all the time when I was a kid. It's only about a 7 hour drive from MA, though, so we usually just drove straight through. I've also driven to Niagara Falls, but that is also only about 7 hours. I don't think I could do any longer than that.

    1. 7 hours isn't too bad. I wish that we lived closer to Canada so we could make more regular trips. I didn't get to see Niagara Falls because of the weather but I hope to visit one day in the summer and go there. ♥ Madison

  14. I'm so scared of driving in snow! When I was a kid, we'd do road trips to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and to Ocean City, Maryland. As I got older, I did some of my own - to Key West. From San Francisco to Massachusetts. (my longest ever) A trip all the way around parts of eastern Canada and upstate NY.
I love road trips. My big one took me nearly to Colorado but we went from Utah to Wyoming instead because we were running late to stay with friends. So I've still never set foot in CO, and I've always imagined that it's a place I'd love.

  22. Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us! I've never been on that part of the world before to even see Canadian signs before. I think it's cool that you all only live in the state right above mine. I will say that I fear living in snow for fear of needing to drive in it again. I hated that. I got stuck once and had to be wait to be towed out and then I couldn't go home and had to go back to my grandmother's house. It was pretty traumatic waiting in the car in the dark all alone for a tow truck to come pick me up!
