Stay Warm in Ella's Wool #Review #Giveaway

Disclaimer:  I was given the products in this post for the purpose of a review.
I was not paid in any way to write this review.
All opinions are my own.

With the weather getting colder and colder it's time to dress warmer. When going out I am usually bundled and dressed in layers. I don't particularly like the cold and the warmer I am the better it is for not just me but mommy as well. I usually let my discomfort be known and mommy hates the whining. I don't mind it at all. Lately mommy and I have been looking at the Scandinavian line of clothing which we love. Not only are their designs unique but the quality is amazing. When mommy was offered to do a review and host a giveaway for Ella's Wool how could she say no? After all I did want to be warm and stay warm. Not only that but the owner Vibeke was a Brooklyn transplant. Mommy having just moved from Brooklyn herself felt a connection with Vibeke so when they started talking it was a given.
Ella's Wool was established in 2012 by a Norwegian Mother who couldn't find quality warm clothes for her little ones. By "warm clothes" she meant wool. Vibeke couldn't believe that wool clothes weren't in every American child's wardrobe as it was back in her homeland Norway. A super soft, thin merino wool layer under clothes when it's below 50°F can actually keep your little one warm. She made it her mission to inform as many parents as possible about all the benefits of pure wool, so that children can play outside all year round.

Mommy and I received the Base Layer Merino Wool Top and the Base Layer Merino Wool Long Johns to review.
This high quality, organic 70% merino wool and 30% silk top from Engel is made with care. Your child will stay warm the most comfortable way. It's so easy to move and play! This top should be worn next to skin to benefit from the wool's great properties. In a natural way, the fabric wicks away moisture from the skin and leave your child perfectly warm and dry.
All base layers from Ella's Wool are machine washable at Hand Wash program with wool detergent.
$39 - Sizes 2-10y
The quality of these pieces were super amazing. It was soft to the touch and did not feel like anything that I was thinking about. Usually when you hear of wool you think of itchiness but not these. I am really loving these pieces. It's recommended that nothing should fit between you and your base layer and when I put them on they fit like a glove. Almost reminds me of pajamas but nicer. They are also machine washable which is perfect for us as well.

From what mommy learned about Merino Wool there are so many benefits from wearing it. It not only keeps you warm but acts as a natural air condition as well. It's also flame retardant. Who would have thought that? With safety being the number one priority for mommies and daddies it is good to know that our clothing won't melt in the case of a fire.

These warm, super soft long johns are the perfect fit for an active child. Made of 70% organic merino wool and 30% silk. Color is Light purple. Our merino wool base layer long underwear keeps your child dry and comfortable and the fabric feels warm even when wet.
When it's below 50 °F (12 °C), simply put merino wool tights on underneath, and your child can go out and play. Cozy!
$39 - Sizes 2-10y
Vibeke has decided to make an infographic helping mommies and daddies figure out the best way to keep their little one's warm while wearing wool.

Ella's Wool is available from sizes newborn all the way to size 10 kids (in base layers) and they are available for both boys and girls. I am really looking forward to wearing my Ella's Wool pieces during my trip to Canada this Christmas. I know that I will be warm and cozy. Ella's Wool gets my Two Tiny Thumbs Up!

They don't really have anything in Jaiden's size but mittens are always good! Especially nice and cozy ones!!! Love the review! What an awesome company to talk about!!! Thank you for yet another amazing giveaway!!!!

  4. Well of course I voted for you! I love the infographic. Des never seems warm enough to me, which is weird because Scarlet always does. I do need to dress him in some good wool. I'd like to buy him a good hat that will stay one (despite his intentions to take it off) as well as base layers.

  8. Wow, this is so cool! I really had the same kind of preconceived idea about wool that your Mommy did! Wool, means itchy scratchy and uncomfortable. I really had things wrong huh?! I love the little info-graphic that Ella's Wool has. I had a hard time dressing with my 1st baby, I was forever checking if he was cold or warm or ... whatnot. It would have been super cool to have that guide, more or less.

To be perfectly honest, I could use a lot from this site! With three kids under 7, it gets crazy complicated to keep everybody in layers and at the right temperatures. I think I'd choose the Children's Merino Wool Tank Top for my 5 year old. He has Autism, and even in 50 degree weather, he will take off his jackets/sweatshirts because it's constricting and a bit uncomfortable. His school doesn't really check if he's cold, and he has a hard time realizing that he's cold & needs to put another layer on. He'll come out of school on a 50 degree day (SoCal doesn't get much cooler than that) in a uniform shirt, ice cold. NOT so great. It's a big deal to have clothes to keep him warm when he needs it!

  10. I'd really like to win one of the cashllamas for baby Olivia's wardrobe when she is born in April as these garments are beautifully made and would keep her warm. However as much as I would love to have one for when she is 6+ months next winter I hope one of the other moms who need it this winter wins, like Stormy who would like it for her autistic son as I have an artistic nephew and know how it is as I'm sure you do Madison! Merry Christmas to all.

    1. You're a sweetheart for the comment. ;) Made me smile. We live in Southern California though & the coldest it has gotten in our area while he would be outside? Is like 47 degrees, and this is the "coldest" winter we've had in a while. We chose something for all weather, but your pick would be an awesome winter gift for your little bundle of baby girl! :)

      Go enter ... & good luck! <3

  16. I would like to win this giveaway for my daughter, Serenity. She's 19 months old, and after 14 months of co-sleeping we moved her into a crib in her own room, so everyone would sleep better. It's been good for the whole family, but we're in northern Illinois and it's COLD up in here!! It would do my heart good to know that she was sleeping in natural fiber clothing that will keep her toasty.

  18. I would choose the Cashllama wool jumpsuit for my sister's new baby girl. She is 2 months old and so tiny. She has been really sick lately and the doctors said that there isn't much they can do (it's just a cold/flu bug). She looks so horrible though, I've never seen a baby hack like this. Her eyes look all red and her cry is so sad (her voice is so scratchy and she just sounds miserable). Anyway, I would love to get this for her so at least she could be a little more comfortable.
