RECARO Performance Ride Convertible Car Seat #Review #Giveaway

Disclaimer:  I was given the products in this post for the purpose of a review.
I was not paid in any way to write this review.
All opinions are my own.

Mommy and I are serious when it comes to Car Seat Safety. It's no laughing matter! Mommy actually refuses to leave the driveway if everyone isn't buckled up. We have been known to just sit in the car until someone (usually my brothers) realize that they haven't buckled up, which is why the car isn't moving. When mommy and I were approved for the RECARO Blogger Program we couldn't have been happier. RECARO was actually the first brand mommy looked at when searching for a convertible car seat for me. She had actually ordered the RECARO Pro-Ride only to get an email from Amazon saying it was sold out. That's how popular they were. We ended up choosing another brand and while I was happy in it we still wanted a RECARO. Luckily for us we were sent the RECARO Performance Ride for a review and boy oh boy what a car seat it is!
We received the RECARO Performance Ride in Redd. I'm still rear facing so it's good to know that the RECARO Performance Ride is Rear Facing from 5 to 40 pounds. This makes it suitable for newborns making this the only car seat you would need. It is also Forward Facing to 70 pounds. Installation was super easy. Mommy and daddy decided to install this in our Grand Caravan and had no issues using the latch. With mommy kneeling in the seat, daddy was able to tighten and secure the seat making it almost unmovable. Daddy says that it was one of the easiest car seat installation that he's done so far. For those who would need it forward facing there is also a universal top tether system as an added anchor.

Now mommy and I want to show you an info-graphic that RECARO has about the Performance Ride. That is nothing compared to the actual thing and what I have to tell/show you. Now if you didn't know, RECARO has been designing racing car seats for over 100 years. If race car drivers trust RECARO in a crash, and we all know that they go pretty fast, why wouldn't you trust RECARO with your little one's life? Makes sense to me and mommy.
The first thing that mommy and I noticed about the RECARO Performance Ride is that it had actual steel in the back. Now you all know that there is nothing stronger than steel. Now you know that with that added feature you have less than nothing to worry about. That really made mommy and I feel even better about owning a RECARO.

All Performance Series RIDE seats now include HERO – a new, exclusive, and innovative safety feature by RECARO. HERO ensures the highest level of protection and comfort by positioning the shoulder pads to appropriately fit the child's neck, head and shoulders while resisting harness twisting and ensuring proper chest clip positioning.
The RECARO Safety Stripe System is a racing-inspired white stripe that is clearly visible on the outside edge of the five-point harness. This stripe is designed as an easy alert to parents that a twist could occur, or has begun, thus preventing a safety hazard.

The turn of a knob positions the head restraint to properly fit the child, which ensures optimum safety and comfort.

Featuring an ergonomic shell structure that offers support for your child’s body, the car seat is pleasant and cozy for short errands or long road trips. The harness system features soft pads to make it more comfortable for your child. The head restraint is designed with protective and comfortable PUR foam for extra padding and added protection. For comfort and safety, the soft, cushiony car seat is made with expanded polystyrene foam (EPS) that absorbs external forces while providing your child ample room for growth. The seat cushion is also equipped with a memory foam seat pad for enhanced comfort. Believe me when I say that it really is comfortable. Make those trips whether they are short or long so much easier. This is the car seat we will be using on our 1,000 mile trip to Canada so it had to be comfortable.

The EasyAdjust five-point harness can be customized to properly accommodate your growing child. It adjusts with a simple turn of a knob without the hassle of rethreading any straps. TrueLock belt lock-off prevents any slippage from your vehicle's seat belt when used forward-facing. With an upper weight limit in the forward-facing position of up to 70 pounds, this car seat has one of the highest weight capacities for any convertible car seat with a five-point harness system.

The rear-facing recline lever allows you to adjust the seat to best fit your vehicle's backseat.

For no-fuss care and maintenance, the Performance RIDE car seat comes in a variety of easy-to-clean fabrics and colors. The luxurious, temperature balancing fabrics offer superior comfort and have an alluring, stylish design. The four zones of CoolMesh Air Ventilation provide an air circulation system that will keep your child cool and comfortable during a ride. The car seat offers convenient storage pockets to keep the loose ends of harness belts tucked neatly out of the way for ease of placing your child into the car seat.

I may not have mentioned this but this also comes with a removable cup holder.  I have been riding in my Recaro Performance Ride for the past three weeks and I have to say that it is so comfortable that I almost always fall asleep whenever we go riding. Comfortable seats that don't make me sweat even with the heat on. Perfect! I am really in love with my Recaro Performance Ride and I definitely give it my Two Tiny Thumbs Up!

You can purchase your very own RECARO Performance Ride Convertible Car Seat at Amazon.com, Babies "R" Us, Buy Buy Baby, Allbee Baby and Diapers.com. For more product updates and information you can connect with RECARO via:

  1. I just love how easy it is to clean the fabric on the car seat! Having to take the car seat apart to clean in the wash is such a pain, but it seems like this car seat would be easy to clean with a simply wipe down. Thanks for the wonderful review!

  2. The rear facing 40lb limit is great. My kids are giants but i still want to keep #3 facing back till she's two so this seat will be perfect for that

  3. Oh wow! This looks like a great car seat. As you know Madison, I'll be having a baby in April and we still need to find a car seat for the baby. The pink one would be great as we're having a girl. Since baby's daddy retired after doing 20 years and 8 deployments and with me being pregnant and the kids to support, money has been very tight, so winning this would be a great help. We've been told about the Graco snug ride connect 35 which we were hoping to get but this one seems even better with the ease of installation and use and extra strong steel back. Thanks for the review, great recommendation! Would b honored to win one!

    ReplyDelete
  113. I love all the amazing safety features and the easy to install tools.

    ReplyDelete
  114. I like so many things about the Recaro car seats. Their excellent safety rating, that the seats are comfortable, and that they are easy to install.

    ReplyDelete
  115. Ooooh, Madison. My sons forget their seatbelts all the time! I got tired of nagging, so we just wait too. It's funny sometimes how long it takes them to realize!

I love a lot of the Recaro features, but I think my favorite is that the EasyAdjust five-point harness can fit my kiddo WITHOUT re-threading any straps. That is seriously the worst part of vehicle safety! The fact that the seat can hold 70 lbs forward facing though?! Is pretty amazing. My 50lb son is notorious for making me pull off the highway to re-buckle him! He has a hard time remembering to STAY buckled. :/ It starts to get dangerous when we're in high traffic areas and there's no spots to pull off! The five point harness is harder to remove, for sure!
