Waterbabies: Giggly Wiggly Review

I recently received a doll from Playmates Toys called Waterbabies. Before I show my new doll let me tell you a bit Playmates Waterbabies.

Playmates Toys is delighted to introduce its Waterbabies® brand to a new generation of little girls. Our Waterbabies dolls feel soft and cuddly, like real babies, when filled with warm water. The new Wee Waterbabies dolls come pre-filled for soft, squeezable cuddling.

Waterbabies are for every little girl who wants to love and nurture a special doll.

Now on to my review! I was offered my choice of Waterbabies and decided to choose Giggly Wiggly because I loved the fact that she giggled. There’s a Caucasian and an African American version. I consider myself Caribbean American so I got the African American version because she looks more like me. Was I right?

The first thing I said when I saw my Waterbaby was “my beebee”. I grabbed the box and walked around with it practically begging mommy to open it with my eyes. Mommy usually never listens to me but I have a trick. I started trying to rip the box open.  That worked like a charm. First mommy had to take photos because if she didn’t you wouldn’t get to see my Waterbaby in all it’s glory.

My Giggly Wiggly is made of vinyl and is 13″ tall, the perfect size for little toddlers like me. Just a push on her tummy makes her giggle but it’s more of a squeaky giggle than a real giggle. Almost like my rubber ducky but much cuter sounding.  She comes in this adorable pink and white polka dot sunsuit and also a matching headband with a fabric flower. She also comes with her baby bottle and a pacifier. It also comes with a funnel and I’ll explain why later.

Here is a close up look of my Waterbabies Giggly Wiggly. Do you see how beautiful she looks?  She has the most beautiful medium brown skin and painted on eyes. Yes her eyes stay open. They do not close. Her mouth is open because that pacifier and bottle that she came with can be used. When you push on her tummy with her pacifier or bottle in her mouth, she makes this sucking noise and looks like she’s using her pacifier and bottle.

Now there’s a reason why these dolls are called Waterbabies. Remember that funnel that I showed and talked about in that photo above. Well she can be filled with water making her feel a lot more real. She has a plug in the back and it is really easy to do. She feels a lot better when she has warm water inside. Do not use hot water!

Mommy couldn’t resist filming this quick video of me playing with my Giggly Wiggly. I hope you enjoy it.
