50s Poodle Skirts Review

Disclaimer:  I was given the products in this post for the purpose of a review.
I was not paid in any way to write this review.
All opinions are my own.

I know you've probably heard me say before that mommy is as old as a dinosaur. I think the people over at the Hip Hop 50s Shop may have heard me too because they decided to contact mommy and offer to send me a cute little costume from their shop. With Halloween right around the corner how could I resist.

I know nothing about the 50's and I guess mommy must not be as old as a dinosaur as I thought she was. She doesn't know anything about the 50's either. My grandma does though and she says those were the best days. The days when it was safe to play outdoors until late without worry. The music was fun she said, according to her nothing like the music we listen to now. She danced the waltz and the mambo and even remembered singing along to jukebox songs. Jukebox? OK that was way before my time. Now I listen to music on an iPod.

Well before I tell you about my cute little outfit let me tell you about their customer service. Can I say fast! Mommy and I received my outfit in 3 days. That's some of the best service we've gotten in a very long time. With Halloween right around the corner you will have your 50's outfit in no time if you're short on time.

I received the 3pc 50s Poodle Skirt Toddler Outfit and I was blown away by the look. Okay I admit that I looked at it online and usually things look better online that they do in person. This was an exception. It looks identical and the quality was pretty good too. The top is made of 100% cotton and is actually pretty soft. It's one that you can wear when you've decided that you don't want to wear the complete outfit. It can actually be paired with other items in your closet because it's not your typical "costume" shirt.

The shirt is a nice crisp white color and the detailing of that poodle was very well done. It's a really nice shirt and I intend to wear it over and over again.

My skirt is made from acrylic and when I first saw that in the description I was slightly afraid that I would not like it. That it would be itchy and scratchy. Well I can say that it isn't. I was able to wear my skirt for a few hours before mommy decided that it was time to get out of them. Even while wearing it I did not scratch because there was no itching.

Don't I totally look like a 50s baby?
Now the Hip Hop 50s Shop store has all your 50's needs for both adult and kids.

Here's a bit from the Hip Hop 50s Shop website:
Whether you need a single poodle skirt or a full 50's outfit, we have what you need. And don't forget the accessories! Finish off your look with a crinoline petticoat, poodle polo, vintage chiffon scarf, 50's jewelry, cinch belt, bobby socks, and saddle shoes. We have a variety of colors and sizes for both women and kids. Have your guy join in the fun, too, with a black leather jacket and sunglasses for men.
The 1950's were a time for rock-and-roll, freedom and progress. There is no more iconic 50's costume than the poodle skirt, which was designed specifically to allow the cool cats to groove freely to the music. Bring back the good times with a fifties costume from Hip Hop 50s Shop.

  3. Ok, this is the most adorable thing I've ever seen. My parents were born in the 50's so their fondest memories are more of the 60's (when they got into some trouble, of course) but every now and then they talk about early childhood in the 50's. This look is timeless, clearly, but no one works it better than you!
